A girl sits in front of a mirror, adorned in a luxurious custom-designed wedding dress crafted with intricate platinum threads and adorned with beautiful diamonds. Enhanced by a touch of light makeup, her long hair is elegantly tied in a bun, embellished with small white flowers arranged delicately on the side. She appears breathtakingly beautiful, captivating observers with her timeless and enchanting presence. However, her eyes betray a coldness, lost in her own world with a myriad of thoughts occupying her mind. Consequently, she pays no attention to the people around her.
"Y/n! Where are you lost?" Jennie clicked her fingers in front of Y/n, who was deeply engrossed in her own thoughts, suddenly startled by Jennie's interruption.
"Why are you yelling, Jen?" Y/n asked lazily.
"Are you serious? I have been calling you for ten times now." Jennie sighed and continued, "Are you really okay? If you have any single doubt about what's happening, just give me a word. We will run away, and when everything clears out, we can come back."
"I'm not a coward. Why would I run? If I have any doubt, I will go and face them and tell them I don't want any shit happening," she said sassily. Her cold gaze turned a little dark, a mysterious glint appearing in her eyes, and a devilish smile played on her face. She continued, "This is what I choose, Jen. No one but me. I will write my own story from now on. I will make the people who are evil beg me for forgiveness. This is the promise I made to myself."
Before Jennie could reply, someone knocked on the door. Jennie sighed and cast one last glance at her cousin before opening the door.
"Tae," Jennie said as she opened the door, "Can I come in? Is she ready?" Taehyung asked, appearing tired with noticeable bags under his eyes. Despite being a newlywed, his fatigued appearance suggested otherwise.
"Yep, she's ready! Where is Jisoo?" Jennie inquired, making way for Taehyung to enter the room.
"She is with Mom," Taehyung informed, glancing at his sister, who smiled gently at him, seated elegantly in a chair.
Looking at the two siblings, Jennie decided to give them some space and said, "You guys talk. Y/n, if you need anything, just call me, okay? I won't be far."
A peculiar silence lingered between the siblings, an unusual occurrence in their typically vibrant dynamic.
Y/n, unable to see her brother in such a state, decided to break the silence, teasingly remarking, "You look like crap. When was the last time you took a bath, you idiot?"
That brought a small smile to Taehyung's face, and he replied, "Yahh!! says the one who looks like she's coming from a period drama."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean? This dress is specially made for me. It's the only one-piece customized by my cousin-in-law-to-be," Y/n retorted.
Hisfacial expression shifted once again to sadness as he asked her, 'Do you reallywant to do this? I promise, just give me a word, and I will fight for youagainst the entire world. I don't care about anything else but my sister,'Taehyung earnestly expressed, deep concern evident in his eyes.
Y/n sighed and said, "Wahhh, everyone is asking the same question since the minute I said yes to this marriage." Y/n looked at her brother, who had tears in his eyes, and her heart broke seeing him like that. She continued, "I'm okay, Tae. Stop blaming yourself, and you can't be like this. There is a girl who fought her family and this whole world just to be with you, so always make her happy, never hurt her! Promise." She pointed her index finger at him, a gesture they'd shared since childhood to promise each other, to keep each other's secrets. Taehyung also pointed his index finger and touched her finger, saying, "I promise," and he hugged her protectively.
And there were three people also present, looking at the two siblings warmly with tears in their eyes: Taehyung and Y/n's father, Woo Bin, and their mother, Shin-hye, along with Jisoo. Just like any good parents, Woo Bin and Shin-hye wish for nothing but the well-being and happiness of their children. While they are happy for Taehyung, their joy is tinged with worry and concern for Y/n. It's hard for them to find peace knowing that their little girl is in the house of their enemies.
Jisoo can't help but feel a pang in her heart, realizing that Y/n is going to marry her brother. She understands that everything Jungkook is doing is for her, but she's aware that her household, the Jeon Mansion, is different—different people, different relationships. Jisoo contemplates how Y/n will adjust to her family, not realizing that Y/n, in fact, is poised to change everything about her family and the people within it.
Shin-hye wiped away the uncontrollable tears, gazing at her daughter with a mixture of pride and sadness. "My princess looks truly regal today," she said, moving in to hug both her children. The moment was a bittersweet blend of emotions, as Shin-hye couldn't help but be moved by the sight of her children, yet the circumstances surrounding the union weighed heavily on her heart.
Woo Bin joined the embrace, enveloping his family in a comforting hug. As he gently caressed his hand through his daughter's hair, he remarked with a mixture of hurt, fear and nostalgia, "I can't believe my champion is getting married today! Why did you grow up so fast?" The sentiment captured the essence of a father's pride and the inevitable passage of time.
Y/n, breaking the momentary solitude, called out to Jisoo, encouraging her to join the warmth of the group hug. As Jisoo hesitated before stepping in, it dawned on her that this was a rare and precious moment – a family hug, something so ordinary for most yet extraordinary for her, a stark contrast to the cold and calculated atmosphere of her own family.
A sudden force disrupted the tender moment as Jennie joined the group hug, announcing that it was time. The serene smiles that adorned their faces vanished, and a collective sigh echoed through the room. Woo Bin, taking a deep breath, smiled at his daughter, extending his hand to Y/n, and said, "Let's go, champ." The air became heavy with anticipation as they prepared to step into the next chapter of Y/n's life.
