Chapter 30

AJ's POV

"AJ please get me some ice cream." she said waking me up out of my sleep. It was damn near four in the morning. "You can go get it." I said as I was laying on my stomach, looking at her. She was looking down at me with her eyebrows furrowed together. "AJ." she growled. "Kaila." I growled back. "I know you're sleepy but please? I want all three of the flavors in a bowl." she said shaking me. I got up and went downstairs into the kitchen. "Want some damn ice cream at four in the damn morning." I mumbled as I opened the freezer. I took the ice cream out and I went to the cabinet to take a bowl down. "Hurry up!" I heard her yell from the room. I rolled my eyes and started to get her ice cream faster.

I grabbed the bowl and walked upstairs and into the room. "Here ma." I said giving her the bowl. "Thank you baby." she smiled as she took the bowl from me. I sat next to her and I turned on the TV. "What you wanna watch?" I said getting on Netflix. "Phineas and Ferb." I looked at her upside her head. "You kidding me right?" I said chuckling. "No. I like that cartoon." she said looking at me and taking the remote. She typed in the name and pressed play.

After watching for about an hour, I rubbed her belly. "They know you." she said smiling as she touched it too. "I'm tired." she yawned. I turned off the TV. I laid down and she put her back into me. I threw my arm around her stomach and we fell asleep that way.

Kaila's POV

"Wake up." I said shaking AJ it was one in the afternoon. "Get ready we gotta go get the stuff for the babies' room." I said as I shook him. He furrowed his eyebrows and got up. "We got the cribs Kai." he groaned. "Yeah, but we have to get the stuff off the registry that they didn't buy. It's only a couple of things. One store." I said as I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. I relieved, and cleaned myself before turning on the shower. I opened the door and walked in to let the warm water hit me on my back. All my muscles relaxed, and I grabbed my loofah. I put my Georgia Peach body wash on it and started to wash thoroughly. "Kai!" I heard AJ yell. "What! I'm almost done!" I yelled back. "Somebody's here for you!" he yelled. We both had really good ears. "Well wait with em then! I'm in the shower!" I said as I was almost finish. I rinsed off and hung the loofah back up. I turned off the shower and walked out. I dried off, put on the matching lotion to the body wash, and put on my deodorant. I took my curly hair out of the bonnet and made sure it was still pretty. I walked into the room and opened my underwear drawer. I put that on and headed to the closet. I put on some black tights, my gold Jeremy Scott's, and a white shirt that had N°5 in gold letters. I put on a gold, diamond bracelet that King bought for me and the earrings to match. I went back to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and rinsed with listerine. Then I headed downstairs.

"Karen?" I said as I stopped at the last step. All those memories of that night replayed in my head. "Kaila. My baby..." she said getting up to touch me. "No. Get out." I said backing up the steps. "Bae." AJ said giving me a stern look. "What?" I asked having him the same look. "Give her a chance." he said and I gave in. I walked down to her and she hugged me, but I didn't hug back. "Sit down." I said motioning towards the couch. AJ walked up the stairs to get ready. "Kaila, I've been looking high and low for you. You just up and left. Look, I'm clean now, I'm better baby just tell me, I am your mother." she said grabbing my hand. "That same night you and King argued about money. You never came back home ma. Y'all both left me at he same time." I said as the tears trailed down my face. I quickly wiped my face and continued talking. "Then, my virginity was ripped from me. And that's when King got me." I said as I let out a deep breath. "Kaila I'm here now." my mother said rubbing my back. "I am twenty one." I said shaking my head. "Look baby. You are twenty one, your brother is twenty three, but I'm never too late as long as I love you two." she said squeezing my hand. "I forgive you mama." I said smiling and hugging her. She hugged back. "You're having my grand baby?" she smiled as she touched my stomach. "Babies." I smiled. "What gender?" she said smiling. "Boy and Girl." I smiled. "Wow, and that's their father upstairs?" she said as she leaned back. "Yeah." I smiled showing her my ring. "Nana's babies are going to be cute. And you getting married? Lord, time has gone." she said. "How's your brother doing?" she smiled. "Married, three year old son, he's great." I summed up in one sentence. "Wow. Can you take me to see him?" she asked. "I don't think that's a good idea. His feelings against you are way stronger than mine." I said standing up as AJ came downstairs. "Alright imma come see you tomorrow alright. We have to do something. I need to see your brother." she said getting up as well. "Bye ma." I said as she went out of the door.

AJ walked up to me and put his hands on my waist. "You good?" he said looking down at me. "I'm fine baby." I said kissing his lips. "Let's go." he said as he handed me my purse and opened the door. This morning was already emotional.
