Chapter 14

Kaila's POV

I woke up in the bed by myself. I got up and walked to the bathroom. I used it and brushed my teeth. I washed my face and decided to make breakfast for everybody and then get dressed and head out somewhere. I walked out the bathroom, to my door, and I seen AJ sleeping on the air mattress. He looked so peaceful. I let him sleep and walked out my room and downstairs to the kitchen. I looked in the refrigerator and pulled out eggs, cheese, bacon, and butter. I searched through the cabinets until I found the box of grits. I grabbed the measuring cup and cracked two eggs in it. I put pepper in the eggs and started to break the yolk up with the fork. As I was doing that I heard a girl giggling. I turned and seen Dre and a pretty girl. They were having fun tip toeing around trying to get her out quietly. "Good Morning Y'all. Hey I'm his bestfriend Kaila and you are?" I said smiling and nodding at her. "Oh hi. I'm Lauren." she smiled seemingly ashamed. "Would you like to stay for breakfast? " I said making my attention back to the pan on the stove. I poured the eggs in it while I heard them making this life decision. "Okay. I'll be glad to stay." she said walking over to me. "Okay. Make yourself at home. I got the kitchen." I smiled cracking more eggs and putting the bacon in another pan. After she walked out Dre walked in. "You not funny." he said snarling at me. "What are you talking about? I'm being nice to your guests. We just bestfriends anyway. Remember?" I whispered shaking my head and went back to concentrating on the food.

When I finished cooking I made four seperate plates. I sat them all on the table and put cups out. I went in the fridge and took out orange juice and apple juice. I put a fork on everybody's plate and called them to the table for breakfast. I ran upstairs and AJ was still sleep. "AJ. Wake up." I said shaking him. He mumbled and turned over. "Amariiiiiii. Breakfast is ready." he jumped up real fast. "I'm up. I'm up." he said yawning. I smiled at him and he smiled back. "Come on." I said grabbing his hand and leading him out the door and down the stairs. To my surprise Dre and Lauren was waiting on us. I sat down at the table with AJ sitting next to me and Dre had the most saltiest look. We all dug into our plates but Dre was mugging me the whole time. "Kaila. This is so good." Lauren said filling her mouth. "You gotta teach me sometime." She said. I smiled and nodded. "Dre. Wassup?" AJ said mugging Dre like he was mugging me. Lauren was at full attention and so was I. "The fact that y'all fuckin is wassup with me." he said looking AJ up and down. "What!? Are you crazy?" I said. "Nah I ain't crazy. But now I'm wondering if you really gave it to Shad and regret made you say something different." he said standing up from his seat.

AJ POV

"Wow. Wow. I-I... I'm so sorry you had to see this Lauren." Kai said backing from the table and running upstairs. "I ain't fuck her man. I respect her; you supposed to be like a brother, a bestfriend. You gotta chill bruh." I said going after her. I went upstairs to look for her. I walked in the room and I heard her going ballistic. She was on her balcony on the phone. I stood at the sliding door waiting for her to get off.

When she finally did, she just put her face in her hands. I walked out and sat next to her. "Kaila. Listen. Fuck him and what he thinks okay? I understand he yo bestie and all ma, but he wasn't true if he has no sympathy for you over that. I won't stay over anymore if that's what it takes." I said moving her hands. "No, it's not you. Imma move out. I can't take it." she said wiping her tears. "After this month I'm out. I'll ask my brother for help, but after that I'll pay bills and stuff on my own." she said getting up. I got up with her and she faced me. "Thank you for everything." she said hugging me. "No problem ma." I said kissing her forehead. "Let's get ready, so we can get outta here." I said nudging her inside. She headed to her closet and I took my clothes and hygiene things out my duffle bag. I headed to the bathroom to give her privacy.

Kaila's POV

I picked out a pair of mens khaki joggers, a red fitted crop top, and my carmine's. I put it all on and walked out to my dresser. I put on a gold MK watch and my chain necklace. I decided to keep my straight hair down and flip my bangs. I knocked on the bathroom door and AJ opened it. He ain't have a shirt on but his pants and shoes were. He had a toothbrush in his mouth and he walked back to the sink. Lord knows this man is fine. His tattoos looked sexy on his chocolate skin. The defined muscles just added on to the sexiness of his body.

He caught me staring and started smirking. I flipped him off and proceeded to plug in my flat iron. As it got hot, I sat there and watched him do everything. When he had his whole outfit together, it was funny how our outfits were the same but totally different. I did my hair as I watched him add his jewelry. "Kai. You got any hats?" He said putting his chin in the crook of my neck. "Yeah hold up." I smiled looking at him in the mirror. I unplugged the flat iron and walked out as he followed me. I opened the chest and showed him what I had. "Kaiiii." He groaned. "What?" I laughed. "These hats ma." he smiled. "Boy choose one." I smiled. He picked a bucket hat and put it on. I grabbed my phone, my wallet and my keys; we walked out. I locked the door and we went downstairs. Lauren was gone and so was Dre. I left everything for Dre to clean and left out with AJ right behind me.

When we got to the lobby he was into his phone. "My car or yours?" I asked wrapping my arm around his. "Yours?" He asked curiously. "Mmkayy." I said pulling my keys out and walking towards my car. I pressed the button twice. His eyes lit up. "Foorreiggn ma. You spoiled as fuck." he smiled. I handed him the keys and walked to the passenger side. I got in and so did he. "Before you even drive, adjust everything." I scolded making sure he got the point. He did as told and sped out the parking lot.

"Where you wanna go ma." he smiled looking at me. "You know you're so cute with these deep ass dimples." I bit my lip and adjusted in the seat. "Thanks ma." he said grabbing my hand and kissing it. "We can go to King's house though." I said looking out the window. "Iight." he replied as he turned, headed that way. I hope King is okay with this.
