Chapter 17

Kaila's POV

I woke up wrapped up in AJ's arms. I tried to scoot out of bed and he tightened his grip on me. "AJ... let me up I have to pee." I whispered trying to wiggle out. He let me go and I hurried into my bathroom and used it. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. AJ had gotten up and was leaning on the door frame. "You gotta use the bathroom?" I said walking up to him. "Yeah ma. Imma wash my face and stuff and I'll be back out. Cause I know what you want." he said smiling and walking pass me. I walked out the door and closed it behind me. I walked in the closet to find something to wear for the day. I had to see my brother and figure shit out. It don't sound right.

I picked out my clothes for today and went to lay them on my mangled bed. I felt AJ snake his arms around me and I stood and turned to face him. "Where we going today ma?" he looked down at me. "We gotta see my brother first cause none of this makes sense." I said pouting. "Iight ma. I ain't going in there though." he said kissing my forehead. "You know better than that. Gimme a real kiss." I laughed as he bent down and kissed my lips. I smiled as he pulled away and turned back around to grab my clothes. "You said I had clothes here, where they at? " he asked pinching my side. "Uh. In the closet." I pointed. He's walked away. I took off my pajamas and started to lotion my body. After about six or seven minutes if that, I slid on my teal maxi skirt. I put on my white crop top with teal leaves and yellow flowers. AJ came out and me the light brown sandals that were on the floor. We walked to the bathroom and he watched as I brushed my hair into a ponytail. He looked like he had something on his mind. "Aj.. what you thinking about? " I said putting on a headband. "Nothing Kai. " he mumbled and left the room. I rolled my eyes and put on my jewelry. Not too long after I walked down the stairs and looked around to see him long gone. I grabbed my keys and walked out.

About 3 minutes later. I got to my car and pulled out the parking lot. I decided I wouldn't see my brother today and I would just do other things. I drove over to Anita's house and parked in the driveway. I got out and walked to the door and she opened it. She was all dressed up as if she were waiting on a date. "Hey Anita. How you doing?" I said as she hugged me. "Hey Kai. I'm fine. I'm waiting on my date. Come in. " she said as she made a way for me to walk through. "I came to check on you and your son. Where is Andre? " I said sitting across from her. Her house was beautifully decorated with dark brown and beige furniture. The walls were painted a pretty blue and it had pictures of her family everywhere even some of Dre. "Oh he's sleeping in his room. My sister was supposed to be here." she frowned looking at the time. "Well I'll take him off your hands if that's okay with you. I don't want you to have to cancel that date with that nice young man. " I smiled sharing a little laugh with her. "Okay. Thank you so much. All you need to know is he's allergic to nuts. His stuff is packed let's get his carseat." she jumped up and we walked outside and she took his seat out. I opened my door and let the seat down. We made sure the seat was in place and I closed my door back. She walked me back inside and down this long spacious hallway to his room. He was laying in his bed and he looked just like his daddy. She picked him up and handed him to me. "Call me when you're ready for me to pick him up." she said handing me a bag. I nodded and then the doorbell rang. We walked out to open it.

It was AJ.

Everything stopped as I seen her hug and kiss him. "Aj. This is my friend Kaila. Kaila, this is AJ. " she smiled. He looked at me and his whole face changed. "Nice to meet you for the first time AJ. I said walking past him. I'll see you later Anita. Your son is in safe hands. I said opening the door and putting him safely in his carseat. After I buckled him in, I put the seat back up and put the bag in the passenger's seat. I got in and backed off. AJ don't even know what's coming his way.
