Chapter 36

Kai

The babies are now two months old. I had both of them on their play mats as I ate my lunch for the day. I watched them as they were kicking and trying to grab at the little toys on top. AJ came through the door and went straight up the stairs. I got up to throw my plate in the trash and I fixed his. I made chicken wings and fries; I put them on the plate and put ranch on the side with seasoned salt on the fries. I hated it together but he loved it, so I made it. When I came back, he was on the floor talking with them and they were so fascinated with him. "AJ. Here's your plate if you're hungry." I said sitting it in the coffee table. "Thanks Kai." He said getting up and kissing me before grabbing the plate. We were much happier now that the babies slept through the night and were very predictable. "Imma go make their bottles, it's about time for a nap." I said as I bent down and picked the both of them up. I sat them in their rockers and made the bottles while they watched. I honestly was glad that I was pregnant and I would do it over again if I could. Just hate the first month, it seems like a year. I put a pot full of water on the stove and sat their bottles in it. I walked to them and squatted in front of them. "My babies hungry?" I asked as I smiled at them. They showed their gums and Naithan reached his arms out. I picked him up as I heard the doorbell ringing. "Who is it?" I heard AJ say. Minutes later he opened the door, and I was taking the bottles out of the water and checking the temperature. "Okay Nate I gotta put you down baby." I said more to myself. I put him back in the rocker. I walked to the front to see him with a mean face on the couch. "What happened?" I asked as I handed him Naithan's bottle. "That was Diamond at the door." He said as he clenched his jaw. I walked out and grabbed them up. "Here get him." I said as Naithan reached out for his daddy. "I don't know why she wants you so bad. AJ if she comes over please let me talk to her." I said placing my plaits behind me so I can hold Lala properly. "Hell no." He said looking at me sideways. "Yeah whatever." I said as I placed the bottle into Nakaila's mouth.

Halfway through the bottle she started squeeze her left hand over and over. "Somebody sleepy." AJ said as he smiled over at her. I took the bottle out of her mouth and put her over on my shoulder. I rubbed her back and gently patted it. Soon after she let out a little burp and I laid her in my arms and rocked her. Naithan was still eating and his eyes were wide open. There was a knock on the door and I got up to go get it. "Who is it?" I said looking into the peephole. "It's yo fam!" I heard Nino yell through the door. I opened it and once they seen Lala sleep in my arms they quieted down. "Awe look at Yall having family time." Quay spoke sitting on the couch. "Shut up." I said laughing. I walked up the stairs with her still in my arms and turned down the hall to their room. I laid her on her stomach and rubbed her back a little as she tried to get comfortable. I turned on the baby monitor and took my part with me.

"Man I need y'all to take care of this Diamond chick. I don't need her giving Kai no damn problems. She stopped by our house today and Kaila was ready to tag that ass." I said as Nate was sleeping. "What's her full name? Where she work? Let us know." Nino said sitting up. He was real interested in it. "Diamond Monique Fuller. Babies R Us. That's all I got." I said sitting back and laying Nate on my chest. "Nino, Quay. Y'all hungry?" Kaila said as she was coming down the stairs. "What you got?" Quay asked getting happy. "Chicken tenders and fries. Homemade." She said as she giggled at his sudden burst of excitement. "Oh hell yeah." He said rubbing his hands together. "How about you Nino?" She raised her eyebrow at him. "I'll take it to go." He said smiling. "Alright. She said going into the kitchen. "That's a good one don't mess up no more man." Nino said looking at me. "Trust me I won't. " I put my hands up in surrender.

*Later on.*

"AJ I have to stop by the studio. You coming?" I said as I pulled on my sundress. "Yeah." He said getting up and walking in the closet. "I'm going to get the babies and put them in their baby seats." I said as I slid my feet into my sandals and walked out the room. They were sound asleep in their cribs and their car seats were right next to each crib. I put Naithan in his and Nakaila in hers. Once they were buckled up safely I carried both to my room and got their bags ready. AJ came out and grabbed both of their seats. "You ready?" He said looking me up and down. "Yep." I smiled and followed him out the house to the car. It was extremely humid and my babies didn't like it. They were screaming and crying and it was terrible.

We walked into the studio and Rashawn was teaching a class as planned and Anita was at the front desk. I told AJ to go with the babies in my office, since it was quiet. "My little god babies here?!" Anita beamed as she seen them being taken into the office. "Yes. I had to get them fresh air, even though they don't like it. We have been in that damn house for two months. Unless I sent AJ to get pampers and stuff. But he's going back to work soon so-" I was saying before I was rudely cut off. "Ohh, so this is the studio?" Diamond beamed as she stepped in front of Anita. "Oh so baby mama is doing something for herself." She smiled as she chewed her gum in my face. "Diamond. I am in my place of business. Can you please respect that?" I gritted as Anita was putting her hair in a little knot and putting on her flats. "Where's my man. Oops. Your man. Preferably mine." She said as she rolled her eyes. I turned and started to walk away from her. This heifer grabbed my shoulder and spun me back around. "Excuse me Kaila. But, I have a question that you didn't answer." She said flipping her fuzzy weave around her shoulder. "You know. You would be a beautiful woman if you weren't so out of order." I said getting toe to toe with her. By now Anita had gotten AJ because he walked out. "What's the problem out here." He said as he walked behind me and out his hands around my waist. Diamond eyes seemed full of fire as she looked at his hands and back to my face. "I don't know why you fucking with boogie when I was there when you had nothing." She said tapping her foot. "Diamond. I am with her because she fell for me for everything but the money. She stayed through everything I been through in the past four years. After 2 years you dumped me for a rich nigga who got addicted to his own product. Don't sit here and act like you did shit for me." He said as his arms tensed up. "You keep throwing that shit in my face. I will set fire to this bitch. She said pointing all around.

"What's going on y'all?" Quisha said as she walked her ass through the double doors. She sized Diamond up and down and she turned to me. "Oh hell no." She said as she looked at my face. "So you the trick?" She said turning to Diamond. "You too pretty for this. Get yourself a new man. Not AJ. He's not a new man to you. Get you another nigga boo." She said smiling. AJ was chuckling in my ear. Quisha was crazy. Once Diamond says something disrespectful it's over. "So Imma listen to a big pregnant bitch?" Diamond said looking at her sideways. "See. Can't be nice to you hoes. You can learn a thing or two from me." She started as she backed her into the desk. "Bitch I'm married, rich as fuck, with two kids, and a fine ass man. So get yourself another man. Do something better." She said as she mushed the fuck out of her. She turned around as Diamond started walking behind her. "If you touch me, I will sue your ass until I own your name. Fuck with me Diamond Fuller." She said walking away and winking at me. I just stood there as Diamond stopped. "Please leave my premises." I said as I walked away with AJ to go check on my children.
