4. Shining Bright

Okay drinking last night was defiantly not a good idea
I look at the clock, 7:30am I should already be up.
Julie and Flynn went inside an hour ago to shower and have breakfast, I told them I'd just shower out here and we'd walk together but I had not moved since then and we'll have to leave soon.
Forgoing the shower since I just had one yesterday and also would be super late if I didnt, I get up and change.
I grab the clothes I brought in last night,
nothing fancy since I have rehearsal all morning if I get a part.
I really hope I get a part, I have been auditioning for every production since i started the school.

Julie, Flynn and I walk to school making it in on time, and at 9:30 I make my way down to the drama room praying to whatever God that I get a part.
I get to the list and expect to have to read to the bottom of it to find my name but somehow the praying and hard work paid off and not only had I gotten a part, I got the part.
There at the very top of the list was
Veronica - Jessica Joans
The lead I had gotten the lead, I was ecstatic.
We get right to work rehearsing and getting to know our charcters,
working right up until the pep rally which we were to go to,
it was honestly the most enjoyable class I've ever had.
I gather my things to head to the rally when Mr Henery calls me over
"Ms Joans a word if you please"
"Sure, whats up Mr Henery?"
"As you know not many non-drama program students get roles much less lead roles"
"I'm aware"
"You have shown great determination and talent over the years
which is why you have been given a lead role"
"I'm very grateful for the opportunity, I won't disappoint" I assure him
"I know you won't but I do not wish for you to be an exception"
"I don't understand" I admit, uncertain of what he means
First rehearsal had went well right? He's not going to recast me, right?
I start to silently panic
"I would like to offer you a spot in the drama program for the remainder of the semester"
"That, I, I would be honored. Thank you"
"We're happy to have you, now you should get going"
I get to the rally just in time to see Veronica and Dirty Candy start their performance.
I can't find Julie or Flynn any where so I decide to just watch the performace.

"Jessie" I turn my attention away from Dirty Candy to see who was calling for me.
"Flynn, Jul's I was looking for you" I say hugging the girls
"You were looking for us" Flynn exclaims in her normal dramatic fashion
"You're the one who's been majorly MIA all day!"
"I was at rehearsal for the play. I got the part I auditioned for"
"You get out of class for it?
If I had known that I would have auditioned"
"That's only if you get the part Flynn" Julie teases
"Actually about that" I try to build up the courage to tell them the news,
a futile attempt however as Flynn begins to talk over me complaining about Dirty Candy.
"Look who spent all their money on costumes and hair,
I can not believe you choreograph for them Jessie. Carrie's such a witch"
"Well we all know it's not Carrie she's doing it for"
Julie jokes but immediately walks away for some reason so I am unable to respond.
Julie isn't fully wrong though, It's not Carrie who I started choreographing the routines for.
Ronnie just so happens to be the blue member of Dirty Candy.
When she was first auditioning for the spot she came to me in a panic,
Despite the fact that her and Carrie were already friends she was worried she wouldn't get a spot. She needed original choreography for the audition.
So of course I choreographed a dance for her
and once she got in I got roped into being their official choreographer.
I don't really mind other then the fact Carrie is awful to my friends.
She pays well and it makes Ronnie happy.
Besides the dances are way to bubble pop for me to ever want to use myself.

They finish their performance and while the principal is talking I go to try find her.
I'm stopped when I hear a piano being played.
I look up to see a very nervous Julie on stage.
I haven't seen or heard her play in a year so this is a big moment.
I run up the side of the stage to where Eric the light and sound guy is.
"Eric, hey what you say,
mind giving my girl some light" I wink at him leaning against his setup towards him
"Uh uh yea" he stammers out
"Thanks" I say hitting the button to turn on her spotlight,
jumping down off the stage to start forming a crowd.
Everyone suddenly heads toward the stage and I turn to see 3 guys have magically joined her,
I am confused on how they got their stuff on stage but man do they sound good together.
