[ Hartley High, Daisy Coopers ]
Head down and music blasting faintly through her headphones, Daisy barely noticed where she was walking as she entered the school gates. Her brain was still foggy from lack of sleep and whatever weird thing was happening between her and Spider lately.
So when someone suddenly grabbed her wrist and tugged her behind one of the brick corners near the science block, she nearly swung her bag at them in panic. "Spencer—" She barely got the word out before his hands were suddenly cupping her face and his lips crashed against hers. The kiss was immediate and messy.
Daisy didn't even have a proper second to react before Spider kissed her harder, backing her lightly against the wall. For half a heartbeat she thought about shoving him away. Instead, her hands slid instinctively around the back of his neck, and into his hair.
Spider made a pleased noise against her mouth, fingers spreading against her jaw while he kissed her like he'd been thinking about it all morning. Daisy hated how quickly she melted into it. Hated how easily he distracted her.
"Woah." The pair broke apart instantly, Spider jumped backwards while Daisy nearly tripped over her own feet trying to fix herself. Sasha stood frozen at the end of the corridor, eyes wide and jaw practically on the floor.
"Oh," she blinked rapidly. "I'll... just go." Before either of them could say anything, Sasha spun around and disappeared back across the yard.
"Fuck," Daisy whispered immediately, panic surging through her chest.
"Daisy, wait—" But she was already rushing away from him, clutching her bag tightly against her chest while embarrassment burned through her entire body. This was bad, really bad. Only Ant knew about whatever was going on between her and Spider. Now Sasha did too.
And if Sasha knew, it wouldn't take long for everyone else to know. Especially Cash. Behind her, Spider dropped his head back against the brick wall with a frustrated groan.
"Fuck!" By the time Spider stormed into the boys' changing rooms, irritation was practically radiating off him. Unfortunately for everyone else, Malakai became the easiest target.
"What were the flowers for?" Ant snickered from one of the benches, grinning knowingly towards Malakai.
Spider scoffed loudly while tugging his jersey over his head. "He's a simp, not a pimp." Malakai immediately looked up at the tone.
"Congratulations, Spider," he drawled sarcastically. "You finally made A-grade. You happy now?" Spider's jaw tightened instantly.
"If you put half as much effort into training as you do trying to root girls, you might've made the team too," he shot back. The room immediately went quieter.
Malakai stood slowly, clearly unimpressed. "See, when I play, I always score. On and off the court."
A few boys in the background started laughing while Spider folded his arms tightly across his chest, trying very hard not to swing at him.
"Oh shit," Dusty laughed loudly. "Big man. So you did hook up with Amerie?"
"Oh bro, he definitely did," Ant added dramatically, clutching his head.
"Bullshit," Spider muttered darkly, shoving a hand through his hair.
"Don't be jealous because a girl picked me," Malakai shrugged casually. More laughter echoed around the room. Spider's fists clenched so tightly his knuckles almost turned white. The thing was, Amerie wasn't even remotely the problem. His brain was still stuck on Daisy.
"Yeah right," Dusty laughed, slapping a hand against Spider's shoulder. "You're rooting Coopers now anyway, aren't ya? Sasha said—"
"Get fucked," Spider snapped immediately. "As if I'd touch that prude." The words left his mouth too fast and too harsh. Even Spider himself looked slightly sick afterwards. Ant noticed immediately, watching the way Spider's jaw tightened like he regretted saying it the second it came out.
