Sam's POV

I walked into the elevator of the BAU with Morgan beside me. It was already half full with men and women dressed formally either holding a box, clipboard or tapping away on their phone.

Morgan pressed a button on the elevator door causing the metal doors to slowly close, the elevator hummed before travelling upwards. I couldn't help but notice the glares and stares of two women and a man, probably wondering why a kid of my age was in a place of authority let alone being with one of the SSA's of the BAU.

Morgan looked down at me in confusion, catching my look of annoyance. Finally the doors reopened and I muttered "People obviously don't know the definition of being subtle." which caused him to chuckle lightly.

Everyone filed out, I ignored the rest of the looks I got and trailed behind the agent who pushed the glass door own and held it behind him so I could walk through. "Thanks." I said, he nodded before leading me towards Agent Hotchner's office. The BAU was a pretty cool place, the main area where the SSA's worked was spacious with desks dotted about along with a cosy kitchen area where you could get coffee.  "Hotch needs to speak to you about a few things before training." Morgan explained briefly before knocking twice on the hardwood door.

"Come in." Hotch's voice responded as I pushed open the door and walked inside with Morgan standing behind me.

"Sam, please take a seat," Hotch gestured to the leather chair in front of his desk then averted his gaze to Morgan, "Make sure the case is set up in the conference room, we will be there shortly." Morgan nodded and left the room, shutting the door behind him. As I was sat down, also slinging my bag off of my shoulder and allowed it to stay on the floor. I noticed a few photo frames on Hotch's desk, one held a photo of a little boy around my brother's age, with brown hair and a huge grin, the other was a photo of the same boy and a woman with blonde hair.

"How are you finding training?" he asked me.

"Its interesting, I'm learning a lot more and it does help with understanding the more complex side to getting into someone's mind." I responded, he nodded, keeping an expressionless face which didn't surprise me.

"I'm glad. You are still happy with the training to proceed I assume?" he asked, I simply nodded.

"As long as I'm not interfering or preventing your work to continue because of the training then I'm okay with it."

Hotch sat there for a moment, probably assessing what I had just said before beginning to speak again, "The training isn't interfering with any of our work I can assure you, the board are highly impressed with your progress, especially with someone of your age and knowledge." That was reassuring as I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding.

"You didn't think the board knew about you?" he raised a brow.

"No I wasn't aware of it." I replied, wow I sounded kind of posh for a teenager.

"Many agencies are wanting to work with you, not just colleges that wanted you to join early." So he was aware of that then. Well then again, when you have a technical analyst like Garcia it shouldn't be surprising.

"Why exactly am I being trained here? It's not like I'm that experienced compared to the many people who spend years working up to be here?" I blurted in blatant curiosity.

"Because Sam, you have a talent that many young people don't seem to grasp especially at your age and we want to put your skills to the test." I slowly nodded absorbing this new information that I had just been given. A slight frown forming on my face.

"Don't doubt yourself, you are here for a reason, we are serious about our work as you're aware so if anybody says anything about it, don't listen to them." he told me, I nodded, wondering whether I was that easy to read or has those years of profiling paid off for him.
