Time To Celebrate

Sam's POV

I stood there dazed for a moment before snapping out of my trance and jogged over to my Dad's rusty red truck.

Once I climbed into the backseat, my Dad looked at me from the mirror, "you okay kiddo?" he asked, I nodded with a smile before he grinned and turned the keys for the old truck to roar to life.

I was in the backseat with my little brother jack who was engrossed in the game of Mario Kart on his shiny black Nintendo DS.

Joey was sitting in the passenger seat tapping on his phone whilst holding short conversations with dad who was also paying attention to the road.

During the journey, the flashbacks of James kissing my cheek kept creeping back into my thoughts.

I can't believe it happened.

It was just a friendly gesture... I think?

What should I do?

Does he have feelings for me?

This is confusing.

I might ask the girls for advice, I mean, they probably know more than me... Hmmm...

I'm so worried right now. will things be awkward between me and James?

Am I overreacting?

All these thoughts were racing through my mind, so many questions that remained a mystery as well as unanswered. pushing this all aside, I had noticed my Dad had pulled the car into the parking lot of a pizza parlour?

"Urm Dad? why are we here? we were supposed to go to the ice cream parlour?"

My Dad turned to face me with a smile on his face,revealing a few wrinkles "Us parents agreed to drop you kids off here, they do serve a lot of ice cream too so you don't have to worry about eating later." he explained, I grinned at him.

"Awesome!" I said as I swiftly unbuckled my seat belt before grabbing my bag and put my hand on the doors handle before Joey stopped me.

"Sam!" he said, "here, treat yourself and get your celebratory ice cream and pizza." he told me with a crooked grin, handing me twenty dollars.

"Thanks Joey!" I squealed as I kissed his cheek, waved to my little brother and left the car to meet the others who were standing in the lot waiting for me.

"Hey, I guess your parents explained the plan?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

They all grinned and nodded. Then I realised that one person was missing - Josh.

"Hey guys, where's Josh?" I asked,tilting my head to the side.

"He's bringing his girlfriend Kat, they should be here any minute." Shane explained, I nodded as he returned to his conversation with Megan, Max and Jenna whilst Jamie, Emily, Blake, Michael and James were laughing at a joke James had told.

James looked at me and grinned, I smiled back, feeling my cheeks heat a little as megan noticed and nudged Jenna who smirked and winked, I rolled my eyes at the childish girls.

"Hey guys!" a voice from behind me said, I turned to reveal Josh standing with a girl, who was very very pretty.

She was a little shorter than Josh, which was cute as he had his arm slung over her shoulder. she had dark red hair with piercing green eyes. she also wore a pair of black skinny jeans, a colourful floral tee and converse with a light cardigan and I noticed a few bracelets on her right wrist.

"Guys, this is my amazing girlfriend Kat. Kat you've met this crazy lot but these are Sam, James, Megan, Jamie, Blake and Emily!" Kat smiled and I grinned at her.
