Xeria's P.O.V

Completely saturated, we step inside our room. "You go and wash up; I will use the guest room," he suggests, offering me the towel.

"Ok," sneezing, I go to the bathroom.

After taking a hot shower and changing into a comfortable set of pajamas, I go inside the room to see a shirtless Khaos on his phone talking to someone, facing the glass wall.

I know that he is well built, but looking at him for the first time without his clothes on, I can say he's really something. The muscles on his back flex as he runs his fingers through his hair.

"All ok," he asks, turning around and tossing his phone on the bed.

"Yes," I answer, chewing on my lower lip.

"I left my phone here, and Evander was calling so," he explains, scratching the back of his neck.

"It's ok," staring at his muscles, I answer him. Noticing my shameless gaze, he walks towards me and stops in front of me.

"Like what you see," he comments, and I can feel my cheeks heat up.

"What? Yes, no, I mean yes." I stammer and try to walk past him, but my leg gets caught up in the rug, and I fall back straight into his arms.

"It's been a while since you fell like this," he smirks, and I cannot be more embarrassed, but it doesn't end there as I subconsciously keep my hands on his bare chest.

"Beryl don't lie, be a good girl," he whispers, caressing my lower lip with his thumb and then getting me back on my feet.

"I'm, no what?" I exclaim, but he pulls me closer, and I melt in his embrace.

"Beryl," he whispers in my ear, and I tighten my hold on him.

It's going to be a long night.

"Mhm," I groan, opening my eyes I see Khaos's arm wrapped around my waist and I can feel his breath fanning at the back of my neck. Turning to his side, I see him sleeping peacefully.

"Good morning," I mutter as he opens his eyes and a smile, spreads on his face.

"Morning," he smiles, planting a soft kiss on my forehead.

"I will make some breakfast for us; you rest okay, since you must be tired from last night," he gets out of bed.

My cheeks heat up at his comment, but before I can say anything, he storms out of the room after he puts on his clothes.

"I will be leaving tomorrow," I inform Khaos as we continue our breakfast.

"I will come with you," he answers, setting down his fork. "Potato must be missing us," he adds, crossing his arms on the counter.

"No, he likes mom and dad more. I still remember that morning when dad gave me this amazing news about the proposal." I chucke at that memory.

"What about it?" he asks, quirking an eyebrow.

"Well, I and Potato returned from our regular morning walk, and when we were having breakfast, Potato was asking for some of the food from my plate, but I denied it, and simultaneously, mom broke the news, and Potato gave me this smug look, like he was saying that it suits you right." I recall the memory, and Khaos nods his head, booping my nose.

After that, we leave for my parents' house. Upon reaching there, I see that my dad has shaved his head, and the same goes for mom.

As I said, he's so into her, and I don't even want to think of the scenario where he's left alone without her.

Khaos is busy with Mom and Potato when Dad takes a seat beside me with his usual loving smile.

"How do you like my new look, honey?" he asks, giving a model pose.

"You look as handsome as ever," I compliment him, and he genuinely looks nice; he can carry any look he wants.

"Dad, how are you holding up, and please don't lie?" I ask, and his eyes softens at my question.

"Whatever time we have left together, we should make the most of it by making good memories, and I'm really happy to see that you're progressing in your life, honey. Thanks for not giving up, and your dad and mom are stronger than you think, honey," he replies, taking a look at Mom and Khaos.

"Anyways, how's Khaos? I didn't have any idea that a situation like this would arise someday," he asks. Aunt must have called them after we left.

"He's ok; he was even having a conversation with Bertil the other day, and it's been a long time, so he will come around." I answer him because, honestly, Khaos isn't opening up to that extent; he needs time, and he can have it all.

"Guess you have to balance things then, because they are getting engaged in a month," Dad unknowingly says, but drops a huge bomb with a straight face.

"Getting engaged-isn't it too soon, and Quentin didn't tell me a thing about this?" I ask, flabbergasted.

"Because it's a decision made by the elders, though Wilhelmina and Bertil are aware of it," patting Potato's head, who has just entered the conversation, dad answers.

"Honey, no one is expecting anything from anyone, and this is the bitter truth: they have wronged Khaos, and now we're with him; next, what you have to do will be entirely yours and Khaos's decision," he adds, opening the bag of treats that Potato has just brought-seriously, this smart little brother of mine.

"It's not that simple because I think there's something going on between Quentin and Gabriell, Bertil's elder sister." I give him some more news updates, and Dad chuckles.

"The more you avoid or run away from your problems, the more they will chase after you, so just face them once and for all," he advises me, and of course he's talking sense.

Potato is happily eating his treats. Oh, this little eating machine.

"Well, I didn't receive any invitation, so for now I'm going to avoid it." I roll my eyes, and dad gives me a, You're such an idiot look.

"How's work? I wasn't there for two days. I will return today. Tell me if there's something," I ask him because I haven't heard from Moira in two days.

Though I do most of the work, dad is still the boss, and till he doesn't take retirement, I can still relax.

"Take rest till you can, kiddo, because once I decide to go on a world tour, it's all on you," he states with a bossy look.

"Yes, sir." I give him a professional salute.

"Quentin is calling," I answer the call, and dad nods, diverting his attention to Potato.

"Willie is getting engaged to Bertil," he goes straight to the point without even waiting for my response.

"Dad informed me about it." I update him, and he sighs.

"You know, you have to come; mom just informed me, and they have planned the whole thing; it's just going to be our families and some of their friends," he clicks his tongue and reveals the whole plan.

"When and where?" I ask him the most important question.

"Well, mom wants Aunt Lea to attend the event, so I think Uncle Louis is going to decide the venue," he informs me, and I look at dad; he knows everything.

"Ok, don't worry; we will sort things out," I assure him.

"Ok, I have a meeting; I will call you later," and he hangs up the call, and then I look at Khaos; he really is going to get lots of interesting news.
