I didn't realize how cold I was until I looked at my surroundings. White little snow flake were falling around me and the curious man behind me.
I was only wearing a thin pair of shorts and thin tank top, also I was barefoot.
I slowly turned to the man. Once I made eye contact I sucked in a breath, those eyes. His baby blue eyes were piercing my own, just like Zach's would.
I gasped aloud and gripped onto the tree that was beside me.
"I brought you a jacket, whoever escapes from Zach's land is usually a broken soul. You are human, I can tell." He spoke softly, sending another blazing fire down my spine.
Some say once you've been beaten for years you get used to pain, for me-that's not true. Pain terrifies me, but the look this man gave me made me feel safe. Even if he was going to kill me it's not like it'd matter. I'm a nobody-no family, friends, I don't really love anyone except the man who created all.
I sighed deeply and stumbled over to the man taking the big jacket from his outstretched hand. After shrugging it on I was consumed in the most delicious smell. It calmed me, so I dug my face into it.
"Let's go. I brought my truck down here, knowing it would snow and that you're probably another victim of Zach's. I left the heater running." He said, as he took off walking.
I sighed deeply; a heated truck was waiting for me.
I followed the bulky man through trees and thorns. I cried out when one struck me in the face, slicing it open. The man turned around and walked towards me. He stretched his hand out to I assume wipe the blood away, once his hand came in contact with my cheek a firing sensation spread through me. It must of happened to him to, because he stopped and his eyes widened.
He sucked in a breath and closed his eyes. Confused, I looked up at his closed lids, wishing he would open them. He finally did, but instead of his blue eyes staring back at me, red eyes scanned my face. I gasped taking a step back.
He closed his eyes once again and moments later opened them, his blue eyes returning. He reached out for me and locked his massive hand around my tiny wrist. With his other hand he wiped the remaining blood from my face. His hand lingered for a second and I caught myself leaning into it.
He shot me a sympathetic look and hoisted me into his arms.
"I just realized you're barefooted. I'll carry you the rest of the way."
I nodded, not being able to find my voice.
After a short walk we cane to a blue ram truck. He lifted me into the passenger seat making sure to buckle me in and then went to his side. Like he promised before-the heater was running. I sighed aloud and leaned deeper into the chair.
I heard a silent chuckle beside me as he put the truck in drive and headed down the dirt road.
I then opened my eyes as I found myself wanting to know answers, "How'd you find me, Alpha?"
He raised one eyebrow, "How'd you know-"
"I can feel the power radiating off you."
And I could, it's like when I was in kindergarten and I saw the principle walk down the hall. And you just know he's in some higher place or power. Also Zach made me read books on everything about werewolves, but I didn't want to think about him so I thought of kindergarten instead.
He smirked as if satisfied and spoke, "Zach, you're Alpha I'm guessing, sent out a amber alert about a missing rogue from his territory. He seemed frantic and scared, so either you were a threat to him or something valuable. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you're valuable to him."
