I woke to another nightmare.

After Devon and I came home he put me to sleep and went into his office.

I was going to stay up and wait for him but exhaustion took over me and I was soon fast asleep.

I had a dream about Zach finding me again, and when I woke up Devon was laying beside me, thankfully.

I now lay cuddled up to Devon's chest as he slept, light snores escaping his lips every once in a while. It was pitch black outside, looking out the window I could see no stars nor a moon.

I have to admit: I'm scared of the dark. I never really thought about it until now.

I always think it's Zach coming in the room when the wind moves the curtains, or when Devon shifts onto his side I think it's Zach opening the door.

I'm literally going crazy laying down in the dark.

Knowing this is not good for me I slowly climb out of the bed making sure I don't wake Devon.

I make my way across the room and quietly open the door, shutting it behind me.

After I close the door I walk down the hallway rewinding the turns i took when Devon took me to the kitchen.

I finally find the kitchen and to my surprise the lights are on and I see a shadow. My defensive side kicks in and I push my body up against the wall and slowly shuffle my feet along the wall.

Once I get to the entryway I push myself off the wall and grab a kitchen knife from the knife holder on the counter.

Standing by the fridge is a little girl with a glass of milk. I let out a breath and put the knife back seeing that there was no harm.

The girl giggles at my fright, "Hello, Luna." She bows.

I laugh at myself, "Hello. I'm sorry, I thought you were an intruder."

"An intruder? What kind of person would get past the guards? This is the strongest pack in the world."

"True," I breath out, "But you never know."

I get out a glass and fill it up with water, "What are you doing up, may I ask?"

"I had a nightmare." She whispered.

I nod my head in understanding and walk to the bar stool where she now sat and grab a seat, "Me too."

She looks at me frantically, "Do they ever go away?"

"They do. When you stop believing in the monsters in your nightmares."

I hear her sniffle and I rub my hand up and down her back.

"I want them to leave."

"They will," I say pulling the young girl into a hug, "Just stop believing in them."

"But you said you had a nightmare. Have you stopped believing in it?"

"No I haven't. I believe it's true, which is why they come back. But, you have to take my word for it: don't believe in your nightmares."

She hugs me tighter and pulls back, "My names Lacy."

I laugh, "My names Cara. Funny how you're already my friend and I just figured out your name."

Her eyes widen, "I'm your friend?"

I giggle, "Of course, Lacy."

She jumps off the bar stool and jumps around, "I'm the Luna's best friend!" She screams.

I rush to her and cover her mouth, "Shh. You'll wake everyone."

She smiles beneath my hand and nods.

"Good." I whisper.

I suddenly hear a growl from upstairs and a voice in my head, "Come back up here, Cara."

"You woke the Alpha!" I whisper loudly with a grin.

Lacy laughs aloud and kisses my cheek, "See you in the morning, Luna Cara."

"See you." I say back.

I followed her to the end of her hallway making sure she got to her room safely and headed back into the kitchen.

I cleaned our glasses out and turned off the lights. I jogged quietly down the hall to my room and cautiously opened the door.

"Cara." Devon says, standing up from the bed. His shirtless body on full display.

"Y-yes?" I stuttered out.

"Where were you?" He asks, taking a step closet to me.

"In the kitchen. I had a nightmare."

He sighed and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me to his chest, "You could've woke me. I wouldn't have mind."

"You looked peaceful though. I didn't want to wake you because of me being scared of the dark." I giggled.

"I would've understood. Oh, and who were you talking to down there?" He asks as if he just remembered who the other voice belonged to.

"Lacy," I smiled, "She's adorable."

He chuckles, "She's a handful too."

He picks me up childishly: my arms around his neck, my body dangling.

He playfully 'waddles' to bed making sure he doesn't trip on my dangling feet.

He lays me on the bed and crawls on top of me, "My little mate leaving me alone in bed to talk to little girls at three in the morning." He mumbles, jealously clear in his voice.

I lean up and kiss him on the lips. I pull back and lay my head back on the silky pillow. He leans down and kisses me on the neck then positions his head in the crook of my neck and inhales deeply.

"Next time wake me up, please." He begs.

I laugh aloud, "Anything to see your crazy hair and hear your deep voice in the middle of the night."

He laughs against my neck and climbs off me onto his side of the bed.

He reaches out for me and grabs me by the waist pulling me against his chest. He places his left leg over my bare legs and drapes his arm across my stomach, placing his head back to the crook of my neck.

I lay awake for a while and think of what I told Lacy..

Don't believe in your nightmares.
