"Alpha Devon!" A young boy yelled from down the hallway.

After telling Devon about what his mom said he had sat in his chair for about 30 minutes thinking. In that time I had gotten out of his lap and laid on his couch.

The young boy ran into the office, "Alpha! It's your m-mom!" The little boy cried.

Devon stood up and ran out of the office, pounding down the stairs.

"What happened?" I asked the young boy.

He looked over at me, his eyes were blood shot and he was crying. He ran straight to me and wrapped his arms around me. I hugged him back and stood up, taking him with me. He began to sob against my shoulder, "Shhh. It's okay. What happened?"

"Blood. Blood everywhere!" He cried, he gripped my back harder.

I gasped and walked out of the office, still holding the boy. I walked down the stairs and listened for some noise. Relaxing when I finally heard commotion. I followed it out to the back door.

I cried out as I looked around me. I held the little boys head against my shoulder, "Don't look." I whispered.

Sprayed across the back deck was blood. Lots and lots. People were screaming and crying at the view.

I gripped a ladies shoulder, "Where's Devon?"

She looked at me and sniffled, she pointed a shaky finger towards the pool.

I pushed past people and gripped onto the little boy who I still held. He had stopped sobbing and was now sleeping.

After finally getting past people to the pool side. I gasped and held a hand to my mouth, "Oh my.." I whispered.

Laying face up in the pool was Mindy. Her dress was torn and blood was pouring out of her stomach into the surrounding water. Her face was extremely pale and her eyes were wide open.

Standing over her body on the edge of the pool was Devon, his eyes burning red. In his hand was a yellow note. At the same time I looked at him his eyes caught sight of me. He dropped the note and jogged to me, pulling me into his chest, "It was Zach." He growled out.

I gripped his back and let out a sob, not because of her death but because of the pain Zach has brought not only me but everyone in this pack. Even the little boy I held in my arms.

Devon kissed my cheek and rubbed my back, then began softly stroking the little boys hair, "She's dead. She's actually gone-"

"Devon." I whispered.

"I hoped one day that she'd love me like a mom should love a son. That she'd stop fighting against me. I never dreamed of this." He gripped my hair, and a tear escaped his eye. I quickly wiped it and brought his head down against my shoulder opposite of the little boy who was asleep.

I splash came from the pool, I looked over and saw two men pulling her body out of the pool. I sighed and grabbed Devon's hand, leading him into the pack house.

Once we were in I let go of his hand and carried the little boy to the couch in the living room. I placed him down and pulled a blanket over him. I pushed his brown hair out of his eyes and smiled, hoping for my own child one day.

When I turned back around Devon was standing right behind me. I looked up at him and gasped at the sight of his eyes, they were pitch black and he had a smirk on his face. He gripped my waist and pushed me up against his chest.

He picked me up bridal style and ran an inhuman speed up to his room. Once we arrived he slammed the door shut and locked it. He turned around, showing me his black eyes. I gasped and backed up until I was stopped by the bed.
