Ever since we stepped into the woods I felt as if someone was watching me. It's getting to the point where I'm looking over my shoulder whenever I hear a crunch every time Devon or I step on a leaf. My palms are sweating and I'm gripping onto Devon's arm so hard I'm surprised he hasn't yelled at me yet.

"So what happened at your tree house?" I asked, trying to calm myself from my paranoia.

"Really sad story actually, but there's many great memories along with it." He replies sadly.

"Tell me what happened." I gripped his arm tighter as he lifted me up over a creek.

"I had this friend. He was my best friend actually. We played in the tree house everyday to get away from a brewing of a war between my father and Zach's father," the sound of his name made me shiver, "The tree house was our personal get away. The war had started unexpectedly while we were in the tree house. We could hear howls of pain and the paws of wolves running in every direction.

We were trapped in the tree house when the sound of paws were getting closer. I looked out the window to see a pup just like me and my friend. He looked harmless then, but not anymore now. I later found out it was Zach when he was laying over the lifeless body of my friend. Zach killed him after he tricked us into coming down the ladder. He killed him right in front of me, quicker than I could blink. He wanted to hurt me just like his father was hurting my dad. He just thought it'd be more cruel to kill my best friend instead." Devon sighed and stopped in front of a huge tree.

I caught glimpses of wood planks here and there. After I put two and two together I figured it was his tree house. I moved across the ground slowly as I got a better look at the tree. Their playhouse looked dreadful. On the opposite side of the tree the tree house had holes in the wood with claw marks.

"The tree house was later destroyed in the war." Devon said behind me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and laid his head on my shoulder.

"It's still beautiful yet destroyed. How is that possible?" I asked, taking a long look at how the sunlight peeked out behind holes in the wood.

"It's not possible." I was confused at his statement and looked up at him. Only, he was looking at me with the same shocked face. Devon wasn't the one who spoke.

He growled timidly and turned around, shoving me behind him in the process.

Standing by the thick set of trees a couple of feet from us was none other than Zach, "Id love to stay here and listen to your memories, but then again, it's boring as hell."

"What are you doing here, Zach? You're crossing another packs territory." Devon growled out while gripping onto my hand.

"Meeting someone who belongs to me." I shivered at his statement and grabbed a fistful of Devon's shirt.

"That's not true. She's my mate, not yours. Therefore, she belongs to me."

"Oh really? Just because she's not with me doesn't mean she's no longer bound to me. Yet, I've never really left her. Has she told you of our visits?" Zach asked with a smirk.

Devon looked over his shoulder at me, "What is he talking about Cara?"

I gulped, "He invades my dreams."

"So, she doesn't exactly allow you to visit her," Devon asked Zach. His full attention back on him, "How'd you get passed the border? The wall doesn't allow other Alpha's in here without permission."

"A little birdie aloud me in here. They're actually a well known person to you, Devon."

Devon stiffened, "Get off my territory. Next time you step foot near my land or near Cara I will start a war. A war I will finish."
