As luigi marched up the stares, he had a.. dreaded feeling.. He continued onwards, ignoring whatever that.. memory? It's more like a flashback.. whatever it was! He finally reached the top, and he looked around the hallway looked.. abandoned.. he walked to the left and continued onwards until he reached the.. throne room?? It looked like no one had been in there for years! And it was not at all the same throne room as Bowser used.. it was.. much MUCH older.. luigi stepped in and quietly closed the door.
"You shouldn't be in areas where no one else is, you know? It's not safe.."
Luigi jumped and turned around to see Bowser sitting on the throne...
"How'd I not.."
"See me? Well, in here.. I'm easy to look over.."
Bowser puffed out a big bit of smoke, from the cigarette in his hand.
"You smoke?"
"Only occasionally.. I come here... You know so the kids don't see.."
"Yeah.."
"Do you mind if i?"
"O-oh uh, I have my own, so it's fine. Thank you, tho.."
"You smoke?"
"Yeah.. I don't have to bow or anything, right?"
"HAH! No, no!"
Bowsers' laugh echoed throughout the throne room. It lasted only a moment, but it made luigi wish it had lasted a lifetime.
"Oh.. good then!"
"Is.. something wrong?"
"Oh- u-uh.. w-well...."
"You don't have to tell me.."
"Oh... well.. I wanted to ask you about jrs. Mother.. father...?"
"Parent."
"Yeah.."
Bowser sat back down onto the throne and took a puff of the cigarette still burning in his claw. His yellow eyes met luigis blue ones, and he then looked to a stool nearby, luigi walked over and sat down onto it. The air went still as they sat in silence, other than Bowser taking a puff every once in a while. Bowser sighed softly and put out his finished cigarette.
"What do you wanna know?"
Luigis words got stuck in his throat. He unconsciously gulped.
"W-what was their name?"
"... they went by Bee.."
"Bee... how long were you together?"
"We were in a relationship for 16 years.. we knew each other for 18 years.."
"Oh.. long time, How'd you meet?"
"I had run off into the woods at about.. 11.. maybe 12.. I was so angry.. I was to be crowned the next day.. I sat by the water and.. they were playing in the creek, heard me crying, and came looking, thinking I was a hurt animal, and I met my.. love... my soulmate that day..."
Luigis Heart felt lighter, he was happy, not that Bowser saw Bee as his soulmate, of course he did, luigi was happy he was open to talking to him about this, he wasn't jealous, they had spent a long time together, it's..
"It's very sweet,"
"Hm?"
"How you talk about them, it's sweet."
"Ah.. thank you, they are - hmm.. were the love of my life.."
"If it's too much, you don't have to answer! But how did they pass?"
"Illness, as a complications with Bowser jrs birth.. we dont have those life-saving mushrooms over here.. so.."
"Ah.. I'm so sorry.."
"You didn't do anything, no one did anything, it's just.. the way life goes, ya know?"
"Ah.. so Bowser Jr., does he?"
"He knows his mother's no longer with us.. but he doesn't know why.."
"How times change.."
"Hm?"
"At his age, you were preparing to run a kingdom.."
"Ah- well.. that's why I placed the treaty, I realised I didn't want my kids to grow up like that.."
"How old are you anyway?"
"I'm 34.. 35 in February.."
"Damn-"
The room went quiet.
"I'm sorry - I'm sorry.."
"34 isn't that old."
"I didn't say that! Just at the time, you would have had Bowser Jr. at the oldest 22.."
"Yeah?"
"So Ludwig.."
"I adopted Ludwig and the gang after! I didn't take them in at-"
"15.."
"YEAH! THAT I KNEW THAT!"
"hehehahahah!"
Laughter filled the room. It was.. peaceful.. calm.. nice..
