drowning

Drowning -
That's what I was
I was drowning in all of my emotions
I was screaming under the water
Trying not to breathe in
But I couldn't help it
It's a reflex,
So I did.
They say it's the most painful way to go
And I believe them
Completely
The water of my life turned out to be my enemy.

This is one of my favorite poems. The idea that a necessity of life can also kill you has been a haunting thought to me. Feelings are so important to life but my feelings, my anxiety, fight my mind everyday. I wanted to draw on the parallel.
