"Hey, Angela."
"Do you have control over the jukebox by any chance?" Allie asked.
"Yes, we do. It's all on an app."
"I need you to do me a favor."
Sure. What do you want me to do?" Angela asked.
"Is there a slow song coming up?"
"Oh, my goodness. You're about to start some shit, aren't you, girl?"
"If Shawn's ego is still as big as it once was, then yes."
Jay picked up his phone.
"No slow songs. Why don't we just put one on? Any ideas?"
"At Last by Etta James, Angela suggested."
"Oh boy, that's a heavy song for a first dance. But it's a good one."
He manipulated the jukebox selections.
Allie looked around the bar. She saw Shawn, Craig, and 40 other smokers in the area. She took a deep breath.
The song echoed out through the 1800 square foot bar.
Several heads turned, looking to see who had selected this particular song. Slow songs were played sporadically in the bar. Allie took down the last two shots and the final beer. She turned around on the stool, planted her feet on the floor, and stood up. She removed her hair from its clip and let it fall down her shoulders onto her back. It was like spun gold.
She seductively made her way through the bar, her hips swaying exaggeratedly. She walked through the center like a runway model.
"Oh my God!"
"What's wrong, Shawn?"
Shawn stood at a table with a couple of his crew. The crowd parted, and Allie came through. She looked as if she was about to approach him.
"Holy shit! Is she coming up to you? What did you say to her? Damn, you have got serious game."
Shawn's stomach clenched. He thought that she must have changed her mind. Allie made her way through the crowd. Even though she had physically assaulted him, he thought she looked amazing and couldn't deny that even though she had broken his nose. Maybe she came to her senses and was going to apologize.
"I think she just realized exactly what she walked away from."
"Yeah, but didn't you cheat on her? Isn't that why she walked?"
"She could have stayed. She didn't say the right thing."
He wanted her back so badly. Seeing her ignited something within him. When Darcie heard he and Allie had split, she wanted nothing to do with him. She thrived off the fact that she was taking someone else's man. Danielle didn't want him if he was available. A week after Allie was gone permanently from his life, Darcie decided she needed to move on. He was heartbroken. He thought he had genuine love, but she didn't really love him. She liked to use I Love You as a pickup line. She knew he had been with her, and her thrill was catching the man in her web and then leaving him. Unannounced to Shawn, she was known as the black widow.
She continued to walk toward Shawn, making eye contact with him. He couldn't believe his luck. He missed her so badly. He was stupid to let her go. He knew she loved him- with all her heart and soul, even if she never said the words. It took him losing her to realize what he had.
She moved her body like it was made of water, flowing and twisting. Her movements were hypnotic, and she moved in ways most people had never seen.
Craig was sitting two tables away from Shawn. She came within a few inches of him and then pivoted to the right. They all turned to watch her as she came face to face with Craig.
