-AVALONA-
I looked at the front of the car as the SUV's tires ate up the miles between Metz and Italy; Vartan was in the driver's seat and Silvano was in the passenger seat talking to someone on his phone. "So why are we going to Sicily?" I asked when he hung up and his dual-colored eyes looked at me in the rearview mirror.
"It's my grandfather's birthday and they are having him a party at the villa. I've got Anete getting a dress for you."
"Why do I need a dress?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"It's a fancy party," Vartan commented with a sigh.
"Rich people," I muttered rolling my eyes.
"Roll your eyes again and I'll take you over my knee."
"You wouldn't," I challenged narrowing my eyes. He looked toward his brother and smiled a little.
"I would, but it will be when you least expect it Sweet Girl."
I chewed on my lip as he looked at me over his shoulder, a devilish glint in his eyes; I have no doubt he would keep to his word but then again I like it when his hand collides with my ass. My fingers curled around the hem of my shirt and I bit my lip when he turned back around, a darker part of me wants to make them beg me like Silvano had done to me last night.

The impressive Tomasino villa sat on a bluff that overlooked the Tyrrhenian Sea and looked like it was straight out of a romance movie with its ivy-covered walls and sprawling grounds. An older couple greeted us at the door speaking warmly to Silvano while casting glances at Vartan and I as we stood by the SUV. "They aren't fond of me," Vartan muttered crossing his arms over his chest, the normal loathing in his eyes."They don't seem like they like me too much either," I commented.
"These old family types don't like outsiders coming into their folds."
"Then why did Silvano bring us here?"
"Because he loves you Ava and he would rather they disown him than to give you up. As for me, Princess, I go everywhere that you go."
I looked at him for a moment before I spoke again. "So, they know who you are?"
He nodded. "Rossi never kept us a secret, he paid child support for Arik and I even though he was never in our lives. Even set up trusts for us so we could have money when we were adults."
"Your mom didn't keep who your dad was a secret from you two?"
He shook his head and smiled sadly. "Mom was a saint of a woman, even while raising two boys on her own while waiting tables."
"Was?"
"Hm?" He raised an eyebrow turning his gaze to me.
"You said she was a saint of a woman. Does that mean your mom has passed?"
He nodded again scratching his stubble covered chin. "She died from Leukemia about two years before you started working for me."
"I'm so sorry Vartan."
"Don't apologize Little One, she was really bad off toward the end."
"I can't imagine watching someone face away like that."
He shrugged and looked back to the front door as the couple returned inside and Silvano came to us. "Come on I'll show you to your rooms."
The room he led us to was more of a suite then a normal room with a ceiling with exposed beams, pale walls and French doors that opened onto a balcony that overlooked the infinity pool that seemed like it ran straight into the sea. Vartan sat my bag down onto the large four-poster bed with a sigh. "This is your room, ours is next door," Silvano informed and turned I to him.
