Sunlight caused her hair to glimmer as it slipped through my fingers as she laid nestled into my side. "Can I ask something?" I softly asked as she drew circles on my chest.

"Would you consider going onto birth control?"

"I don't have insurance to cover the doctor visit to get it. The only reason I went to the ER after the break-in was because Arik said the state would cover it."

He looked at her for a moment then stood kissing my head. "I'll be just outside Darling," he whispered to me and I smiled some nodding then watched him leave the room.

"I'm guessing that my cousin didn't do that," she commented nodding to my face and arm.

"No, some asshole broke into my apartment Monday evening," I replied with a sigh. She took a seat next to the computer attached to the wall.

"So, I understand that you are looking to start birth control."

"To start off is there any chance that you could be pregnant?"

"No, we've used condoms every time and I also had my period about two weeks ago."

I shook my head. "I don't know anything about it, so I'm okay with whatever you recommend."

"I think we should try Mirena, it is over ninety percent effective. Its an IUD that we insert into the uterus and its effective for up to eight years. It doesn't required any day-to-day routines but you'll need to come in for a monthly thread check. I won't lie to you it is painful to insert, especially if you've never had children because we'll have to dilate your cervix to place it. For the few days following the insertion you'll experience cramps because your body will attempt to reject the device.
