Chapter 34: Collection and Extraction. (Part Two)
The two broke their hug, giving each other a fake smile before moving back onto the bridge, "You guys okay? You look like your saw a ghost." Keith asked, drawing attention to the pair, who looked at each other meaningfully before turning back to the others.
Hunk deciding they stayed silent too long declared, slightly terrified, "Oh no! You actually saw a ghost?"
"No, buddy, we didn't." Lance sighed, turning to walk to his seat, not even turning to Hunk.
"Then why do you look worse then you did before leaving?" Pidge asked, crossing her legs onto her seat. The pair stayed silent, Lance stared back at the others who stared at him, while Allura shuffled anxiously under Coran's and Shiro's looks.
"He wanted me to fly the blue lion should he get captured." Allura blurted out, shoulders relaxing in relief.
The paladins, slowly took in what she said as Lance let out an indignant wail, "ALLURA!" he turned to look at her betrayed. It finally digested for the others, who slowly turned to look at Lance with wide-eyes.
"Lance," Shiro warned, glaring at the blue paladin.
"Yes daddy dearest," Lance said, put on an innocent façade, Pidge, Hunk and Keith went bright red, as they tried not to laugh, knowing that Shiro would just turn their anger to them. Allura and Coran flittered between looking at Shiro and Lance, before shrugging and turning to their respective consoles.
"Is what the princess said true?" Shiro asked, looking a picture of calm to any who didn't know him, sadly Lance did, and he saw his eye twitched and the smile seemed a bit too forced.
"I don't know any princesses," Lance said, looking way to innocent to be true.
"Allura, Princess." Shiro gritted out, squeezing his hands into fists by his sides.
"She's a queen, Shiro!" Lance gasped dramatically, hand on his heart, Pidge disguised her snort as a cough, turning away innocently when Shiro snapped toward her. From where Lance was sat, he could see Hunk's knuckles going white as he gripped them over his mouth tightly, and Keith looked like he had no lips with how he turned them inward to stop himself from laughing. Allura went bright red.
"Lance." Shiro stated seriously, after taking a deep breath.
Lance slumped in his seat, looking away from Shiro when he answered, "Yes, I did." That made the others stop laughing,
"Why?" Came the single word.
"Because she's the blue paladin," Lance stated simply, looking at Shiro as he stood up, "We're wasting time, you guys get changed and head down to Green, I'll meet you there." before anyone had a chance to respond Lance left the room, only hearing Shiro sigh before the door closed. With that Lance headed down towards the armoury, his only thoughts on the mission ahead. Quickly grabbing his best weapons, Lance made his way towards Green's hanger, where the others were all ready to set off.
"Flooding short-range sensors now," Came Coran's voice, as Pidge piloted Green off of the castle and around the nearest planet.
"Initiating cloak." Came Pidge's response as she pressed a couple buttons while the others stood in tense silence. They landed as close as they could to the hub without being in sight and made their way quickly and quietly to the building.
Lance grabbed Keith's wrist, forcing his hand onto the key pad, opening the door. Ignoring the way, Hunk and Pidge looked at Keith strangely. The group entered the building, Lance taking the lead and Shiro taking the rear.
