Orientation Day
The only reason they were there was because they were forced to provide clubs for the new 1st years. Amethyst was apart of student council, while Y/n only attended the cooking club.
"Alright, we're gonna walk in there, get this done, and leave before we see any shit heads. Okay?" Amethyst planned as she and Y/n walk to school. Although Amethyst could drive, they both enjoyed taking a long walk before actually getting to class. "Okay, and we'll say goodbye at the airport right?" Y/n said, hoping to see her friend again. It was hard to see her leave for an entire semester when she's been with her since the 2nd year of elementary school.
When the girls arrived at Aoba Johsai, one or two stands were at the front to give maps of where each club was. Y/n looked for where each club was, finding the volleyball club, Volleyball - gym.. wait, what was I expecting? They leave to their club rooms.
After a few hours of explaining basics of different clubs, it was finally lunch. Y/n and Amethyst decided to meet in the school cafeteria. While on her way towards the cafeteria, there is a group of 1st year girls screaming.
"Oh my gosh! He's so handsome!" One said.
"Is he even real?"
"There's no way he's single!"
Oh no.. Y/n knew who they were talking about immediately. The girls were crowding the entrance of the cafeteria. "What's going on here?" Y/n jumped from the sudden appearance of her best friend behind her. After a couple of compliments, she soon learned to know who it was as well. "Gross." There she was again, becoming angry and disgusted at the thought of him.
The bell rang, lunch time was over. The girls went back to their stands in the classrooms. After a while of no one arriving in the cooking class, Y/n decided to leave to her friend's club. "I'll be leaving to visit other club rooms!" She said loud enough for her president to hear. "Alright, but be back in 30-40 minutes. Even if there aren't students arriving doesn't mean they're not arriving anytime soon." The president was someone who likes to keep track of time, especially since timing was important to cooking. They also liked to keep track of how many people could possibly enter. "Yeah right," Y/n mumbles under her breath.
Y/n herself wasn't head over heels for the cooking club, but a club was required to attend. Most clubs were filled when she first came to Aoba Johsai, the ones left were the cooking club, student council, and chess club. She walked down the halls all the way to the student council club room which was... packed?! What was so interesting about the student council? All it is, is a bunch of nerds coming together... no offense Amie...
There were around 15-20 students in the club, which wasn't the biggest of all the rooms. "Wouldn't you rather be in a cooking club than a boring meeting group?" Y/n spoke confused. A couple of students turned to her as if she were crazy. It's not that crazy. "I know right?" A guy behind her said, he stood staring from the side. She looks for the familiar voice, "Hanamaki?"
"That's me beautiful. What're you doing here? Shouldn't you be baking cookies or something." He says jokingly. "Puh-lease, cookies are so basic. What about you? Shouldn't you be hitting balls towards peoples faces?" They both laughed. Hanamaki was someone who Y/n could always be comfortable around. Maybe this semester won't be so bad, she began to lighten up. "Honestly though, what are you doing here?" He asks again. To be completely honest, she had forgotten she was there to see her friend. She was so occupied by the crowd and meeting Hanamaki that she forgot what she was actually there for.
"I'm here to see Amethyst. You know, she's actually leaving tonight, which is why I'm here. I'm gonna hang out with her." Y/n spilled. She didn't mean to add the part where she was leaving. "Damn, sorry you gotta see her leave, but hey, you got me and others." He said, trying to bring up the mood. He was right, I'll be able to survive without her. Although it hurt her to see her best friend leave, she knew she'd be okay. "You're right. Now... I'm getting through this crowd." She said with determination. "Alright then, I'll leave you to it. See you tomorrow." With that they part their ways.
Y/n began to make her way through, being pushed and shoved, at one point she was on the ground. I can do this, she motivated herself. By the end of it, she began to look everywhere for Amethyst, but she was nowhere to be found. "What the hell? Julius! Where is she?" He knew exactly who she was looking for. All he does is point out the door. Does he not know or something? Whatever. She then goes through the same journey, pushed and shoved, being on the ground, and popped out of the crowd.
Y/n gritted her teeth in the mess she was in. She attempted to clean herself up, which ended well, except her dirty uniform. It's just a uniform. Then she marches her way all around the school. Amethyst wasn't answering her calls, which was understandable. Phones weren't allowed during school times, and she had to represent the rules. After 20 minutes of searching, she finds her friend eating once more at the cooking club. "What.." Y/n said in disbelief.
"Oh, Y/n! I've been waiting for you," she said with a smile. "Well I've been searching for you!" She tried her best to not show she was annoyed, but Amethyst only saw through it. "I told Julius that I was going to your club room, did he not tell you?" That son of a... "No." Even if Julius didn't like talking all that much, he was still able to talk to others. Why didn't he give Y/n an answer? No one really knows, not even him. Y/n's president then chuckled. "Julius has always been like that," they said.
The girls both looked at them as if that information was useful. "Alright well, I decided that we should eat at a restaurant tonight!" Amethyst said excitedly.
"But will we have enough time before you leave?"
"I'm leaving at 11pm silly, and we'll be at a restaurant by 5pm."
"Then where do you plan to go?"
"(fav restaurant)"
With that, Y/n couldn't wait any longer for orientation to end. Y/n and Amethyst both loved to eat there when they were in middle school, especially for celebrations. "Yes!" She exclaims. "Let's get this over with Jordan!" Her president couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm.
"Well, we have one more hour to go."
A/N: Btw Jordan, incase you were curious, is a demi-boy, preferably they/them, who was born a guy. They still embrace their birth gender, but also have their pronouns as they/he. Just so you can get an image of the person.
