My eyes slowly opened. From what I could tell, I was laying flat on my back in the same position Jax had lay me down in last night. I smiled tiredly to myself as my face warmed at the memory. My smile dropped as I raised my wrist and felt the heat at the side of my face. Maybe I'm just grateful...

I sat up on my elbows and looked around. Everything seemed undisturbed, which relived me. Not that I thought jax would steal anything.

I peeled the covers off my body and placed my feet on the ground, taking deep breaths. I walked over to the door, grabbing the gold knob and swiftly opening the door.

I noticed an irregular shadow and immediately saw jax above me, his knuckles only an inch from where the door was. His eyes were wide and his smile blank, processing the possible thought that I had predicted his entrance.

"Well, someone's up earlier then their personal schedule." Jax teased, his yellow grin returning effortlessly. I rolled my eyes and fixed my shaggy hair. "Did you just come by to say that? or is there something else?" I questioned, my early morning crankiness quickly taking hold of my mood.

"Oh, yeah. Caine said that there's gonna be a new game soon, and I didn't want to risk you missing out on all the fun, sweetheart..." he chuckled.

"Wasn't it in your apology that you would lay off the flirty nicknames?" I narrowed my eyes at him, not exactly in a threatening way. Jax's gaze wandered, pretending to be deep in thought and humming to himself. "Not that I recall, besides, even if that was in the deal, I think you know very well that I wouldn't uphold it."

"How could it slip my mind?." I said in a sarcastic tone as I stepped out of my room and Jax closed the door behind me. We began walking down the hallway before memories of the night before flooded away my tiredness. "Oh, uh...I wanted to thank you. Y'know, if I hadn't already. Just for bringing me to my room and being nice." I smiled softly, a hint of tiredness still visible on my face. For only a fraction of a second I could see...guilt? shame?...whatever it was, it swept across his eyes for only a small moment before his playful grin and stare replaced it. "Don't mention it." He winked. I would have perhaps blushed at the gesture, but my mind was reeling with the odd displacement I felt by him. It's probably because I just woke up, I convinced myself.

We continued walking down the hallway side-by-side, Jax's gave focused in front of him. I looked up at him and saw his mouth, my curiosity sparking. "I've never seen you with your mouth open." I said suddenly, no hesitation in my voice.

Jax stopped and turned, looking down at me with his brow raised. "What?"

"Y'know, you always speak with your teeth together. Why don't you just open your mouth to speak?"

His head tilting to the side a bit before he grinned. "Oohhhh...I get it. Man, I can't remember the last time I was asked that question." He bent down on his knees/leaned down to get to my eyes level. "It actually took my a while to get my mouth open. But with practice I was able too...I just chose to not do it."

I moment of silence passed before I gestured for him to continue. "Sooo...can I see?"

"See what?"

"Your mouth open!"

"I dunno...it's pretty scary." He chuckled.

"Right." I scoffed.

Jax could see that I knew he was just trying to frustrated me, so he shrugged in good humor and opened his mouth.

My eyes widened when I saw a row of razor-sharp looking teeth, only. slightly blunted at the tip. I  hesitantly reached out my finger and felt the bottom teeth, applying only the softest amount of pressure as to not slice my finger open. My widened eyes flickered up to jax, whose eyes were focused on my and small beads of sweat beginning to form. I clenched my teeth and pulled my finger back, worried he was getting uncomfortable and mentally cursing myself.

Jax gingerly closed his mouth as we stared at each other, Jax's expression blank with surprise as his eyes were wide and his mouth closed.

"Sorrysorrysorrysoryysorry!" I panicked, averting his gaze and I gripped my arms with either one of my hands. "I should've asked first, I just wanted to feel..." my voice faltered and I scratched my back of my neck sheepishly.

Jax slowly raised his glove to his mouth and touched it ever so lightly, his eyes still burning into me. Though his taken-aback expression quickly melted into a sly smile with lidded eyes.

"Oooohhh I see...you like the feeling of my teeth on your skin, hm?"

My entire face lit aflame as i snapped my gaze towards his. He had the most smug and satisfied look as he chuckled at my dumbfounded and flustered demeanor. "That's not funny!" I pathetically swatted his arm.

"Really? I think it's hilari-"

Before he could finish his thought, a disgusted scoff sounded from the end of the hallway. Simultaneously, me and jax focused our attention to zooble, standing at the mouth of the hallway with crossed arms. My body burned up all over again from embarrassment, and I could tell Jax even not a little red too.

"Are we done playing dentist? Caine is getting unbearable." Zooble groaned. "Uhhh...yeah, we'll be there in a minute." Jax stood and laughed nervously, a sound in which I never thought I would hear. Zooble narrowed their eyes, their antenna slightly jittering back and fourth before they rolled their eyes and disappeared back into the main area of the circus tent.

Another long moment of silence passed before jax turned back to me, his eyes slightly apologetic but his yellow grin prominent. "You still think it's hilarious?" I huffed, mimicking the way Zooble had their arms crossed.

"It was worth it to see you as red as I clown's nose." He retorted playfully.

"You weren't completely periwinkle yourself..." I snapped back. When Jax's eyes widened and he didn't respond, I smiled maliciously, taking it as a win as both me and jax collected our thoughts...
