𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫 | 𝘑𝘦𝘯𝘰

09: Rejected.

Jeno screamed as he sat up abruptly, waking up from a nightmare that was his reality only three days ago. Breathing heavily, he ran fingers through his sweaty hair, making his worried mom burst through the door.

"Baby, are you ok?"

He let out a deep breath, rubbing his eyes. "I'm fine, mom. I told you you don't have to babysit me."

"What's going on?"

Jeno's eyes turned to the side upon hearing a familiar voice. He sighed as soon as he noticed Siwon and only clenched his jaw. His mom knew the two kids too well not to realize the awkward tension between them ever since that day at the hospital, so she decided to leave them alone, hopefully to talk and make up.

Siwon smiled to the woman she could easily call mom, following her with her eyes until she closed the door behind her. The girl stood with her arms crossed, turning her attention back to Jeno who got out of bed, frowning since he managed to hurt his ribs a little with the sudden sit up caused by a nightmare of the accident.

The girl walked over to help him get up, to which he blurred out a cold "I got it." and walked towards his closet.

Siwon sighed, getting annoyed. "How much longer are you going to stay mad at me? I didn't even say anything that bad."

Silence.

She sighed and walked over to the boy, grabbing his hand which he tore away from. Siwon scoffed, running fingers through her long hair. "Come on, this is ridiculous! Are you seriously mad at me about few, stupid words about a girl who should be a nobody to you as well? Maybe I was right that one time before, maybe you really do like her, huh?"

Still no response from the boy as he picked an outfit to wear for the first day back in uni.

"Why were you with her in the first place? What were you doing with her?" Siwon continued, getting on Jeno's nerves.

"It's none of your business." he finally answered.

The girl scoffed, offended and hurt upon his rudeness for the past few days - actually, ever since Youra appeared in their lives. "I can't believe you're taking her side over mine, fuck you, Jeno." she added before storming out of his room.

He clenched his jaw and as much as he tried to remain calm, he threw his clothes across the room, breathing heavily. Things  started to overwhelm him even before the new girl appeared in his life and way before the accident. He was silently going through so much before all of it and now everything seemed to get worse and worse, and he didn't know how to handle it. So, he decided to do what he knew best - pretend.
