"Just please stop." I could hear her pleading with someone.
I sat up quickly thinking someone or something was attacking her.
"Everlynn?" I whispered as I looked beside me to see her lying there next to me on the king-size bed.
"Fletch! Please stop!" she screamed out in agony.
"Everlynn, baby wake up, it's just a dream love!" I straddled her as I placed my hands on her shoulders, shaking her gently to wake her from her painful nightmare.
"She can't be my mother! What are you talking..." her words trailed off, finally coming to.
Sweat was pouring off her face, damping her hair. She opened her eyes with terror seeping out on her face.
"Alec?" she whispered relieved to see someone other than Fletch.
"You're okay baby, I got you I promise." I wrapped my arms around her carefully laying her back down on the bed. I positioned myself next to her and held her tight. She laid her head on my bare chest.
I could feel hate start to rise up in my heart. The pain he caused her makes me sick to my stomach. I haven't asked her about it yet. I want her to come to me with it when she is ready to, but I feel like she will never open up and expose that kind of pain to anyone, not even me. How do I even get her to start opening up to me about what happened to her? I could feel a sense of hopelessness and pain as I thought of the things, she must have endured due to him. Jealousy took over my mind, thinking about him touching her skin forcing her to do as he pleased. I slowly slipped out from under her, making sure I didn't disturb her in any way. I quietly walked to the door of my once old bedroom, looking back at her to make sure she was still sleeping soundly; I slowly cracked the door open and snuck out into the hallway closing the door behind me.
"You know it's not right for her to be here. I don't even know why you brought her here." I turned around to see Quinn standing at the end of the dim lit hallway.
"You know damn well why I brought her here. If you so much as look at her wrong, I will end you where you stand. I may have been gone for a while, but I still lead this pack unless you want to challenge that." I snapped at him, not even giving him the chance to prepare himself.
"Alec, you got me worried. You're not acting like yourself man." Quinn spoke as he walked to the kitchen table and sat down.
"I'm finally happy. Like my whole existence means something now." I sat down beside him.
"So, you say Fletch is back?" he asked me, raising one of his eyebrows.
"Yeah, he's back." I shortly replied.
"Doesn't that make you wonder about what in the hell we were doing all that conjuring for?" his voice filled with curiosity and concern.
"I'm guessing we will find out soon enough, I have a feeling that there is a lot of shit going on beyond what we have already realized. I need to know what side you stand on Quinn. Ours or his." I looked up and stared at Quinn awaiting his answer.
"You know we were made to serve Fletch." He started to argue.
"I made you! You were made for whatever purpose I made you for. I thought Fletch was going to make things better for us but by now I have learned he is only interested in making himself more powerful and leaving us to die if we are found to be an inconvenience to him. Shit man, we didn't even know he was back! So, what does that tell you about him?" I argued back making Quinn stand down.
"What are we supposed to do then?" he asked ready to follow me wherever I took us.
"I don't know yet." I replied back as I left the table and walked back to my room.
