Tony, Bruce, and you had finally finished the last bits on the suits. Even adding the devices so they'd be able to permanently give everyone access to breath underwater as long as the suit was on. Thankfully you all got this done at the deadline Tony had placed. He was ready to get payback. You smiled proudly at the work you had done and Loki walked into the room.

"Finally finished?"

"Ah, raindeer games. Come to check on the lady?" Tony spoke sarcastically.

Loki hadn't been able to be away from you for very long. The longest was to sleep, that ended up only being four hours.

"Oh bush Stark" Loki sarcastically replied.

Tony held his hands up and you just smirked. "We got it all done. Now we should eat before we plan out our mission into the Trench."

Bruce was feeling relieved he wasn't joining. He knew the hulk wouldn't let him die. But he didn't want to test that in the middle of the ocean.

"Excellent idea. I could use a nice shower and some food"

"Oh that we can agree" Bruce also added.

As you watched Tony and Bruce walk to the elevator you just went to look at the suits again. Loki placed his hands on your shoulders.

"It'll be okay, love. We are going to beat Manta"

You looked down a bit "I just, can't help but just wish this was already over"

"I know"

He held you from behind and kissed your head. He went with you so you could get a shower as well. All the sweat and smell of oil could be smelt a mile away.

——

After the shower was finished you had grabbed a nice basket of fruits and a sandwich to eat. You hadn't realized how the cravings kicked in so fast. Everyone was just preparing themselves mentally for what was going to happen. When Tony said what meeting room to meet at. That's when the silence became almost defining.

Everyone followed behind him and into meeting room 12. His tower was finally finished so each room was ready to use. Fury wasn't here for this meeting but that was a nice change. Nidius was there in his water form thanks to the communication link that was now in each room.

"Alright. How should be appropriate this?" Steve picked to be the first to ask.

As everyone took a seat Nidius cleared his throat. He clicked a few things on his end and a 3D scan of Manta's base right at the trench was shown in red, while your soldiers were shown in blue.

"Manta has his place heavily defended. He has a few side bases on the walls around the main building. He's gotten a few people to join him since he's spread such false lies about you, your majesty" Nidius spoke this annoyed.

This caused you to sigh. You had helped so many people before even joining the avengers. Now it felt like it was all for nothing. The red dots were large on the side of the wall.

"How hasn't he gotten the Trenches attention, Nidius?" You spoke sternly.

Nidius looked to you and sensed your concern and anger. "We don't know your majesty. We've had our soldiers near his bases after the last attack attempt he tried on Atlantis. But, what we do know is that there is a strange reading coming from the main base. Something strong...almost like..."

"Like what?" Nat spoke out.

Nidius almost didn't want to speak. Like he was scared that it could be right if he said it out loud. Or more like, it would become a reality.

"Like he found a piece of the black trident"

"Excuse me?" You spoke up.

Nidius swallowed thickly now. "The black trident was a mistake. Someone who wanted to fight your grandfather made it to control the trench and all it corrupted. Think of Loki's scepter when he had the cube with it" he sighed and looked to the reading on his end. "It can control minds, control the trench, and it'll keep on corrupting until he controls all."

You stood up. You had only read a bit about the black trident. But you had thought your grandfather had destroyed it properly.

"How can we stop it?"

Nidius looked to Bruce who had asked and then back to you. "Only the true trident can destroy its counterpart. But this is just a fragment. If it's in some type of device keeping the trench away her majesty will need to destroy it and turn it to dust."

"Okay, whoa, hold up" Clint chimed in "won't that cause the whole trench to start attacking us?"

"Unfortunately, yes" Nidius replied.

Clint gave a chuckle "yeah, no. I don't need that"

You sat back down in your chair and sighed "you'll be okay. I can control the trench. They're still apart of the sea. I'll make it so they only attack what I want"

Everyone looked to you and you couldn't help but control your smile. "What? I can control all life under the sea. The trench aren't an exception"

Nidius only smirked. As the plan continued everyone understood what they'd be doing. Steve and Clint would attack the top right two small bases. While Natasha went in on the bottom right two. Steve had the responsibility of the top left three bases. While Tony had the bottom left. Thor would be attacking the two bases above and belong the large main base. That's where you and Loki would get the top pick of the main base.

When everyone would be finished with their base they'd all rendezvous to the main base to help you with Manta if need be.

"I like it. Make sure Fury has a full report. I want him still putting the fact Manta is even and it was wrong for them to trust him in their faces. I will get an apology for their thoughts" you said this annoyed.

Nidius bowed his head to you and Tony reminded everyone to rest up. Since tomorrow was going to be the big day to head down into the ocean. Everyone went about their business and did anything that they needed to do.

You had picked to sit down in the living area where Loki had sat before. He was with his brother helping him train. You would be doing that to, but right now you needed to mentally prepare most. He almost killed you before, now it was going to be a harsh payback after what was done to you.

Sitting and taking soft breaths you picked to meditate. You could feel this tug you still held with Loki and it grew warm. Almost like he knew you were thinking of him. But your mind drifted to your parents. How you'd have loved to tell them they'd be grandparents. Your father would be absolutely proud and your mother would lose her mind probably. This caused you to give a smiling chuckle at the images. But then...

You remember...Manta took that away from you! Anger grew within you. Seeing the burning lighthouse and your mothers dead body holding your fathers dead body in her lap. The anguish you felt from losing them. A feeling you never wanted to feel ever again. You never liked Atlantis's old ways. About not being merciful. You believed in showing mercy even to an enemy. But this time...Manta would get no mercy from you.
