"I'm sorry you're uncomfortable," Taehyung whispers, taking a step back.

He can't believe that Jimin actually agreed to do this. Taehyung hadn't been expecting it. He'd left Jimin at his place and told him to text him if he wanted to see him again but he hadn't thought he'd get a reply. He'd been prepared to never see Jimin again, if he's being honest.

And Jimin had disappeared for a whole week. He hadn't texted Taehyung and the older one had been too scared to try to contact him. So, he'd done the only thing he's done in the past years: he drowned himself in work.

Now that they're here and Jimin is dressed in sweatpants and an oversized shirt, Taehyung feels a little bit breathless and very fucking nervous. It doesn't help that Jimin seems so hesitant and uncomfortable. Taehyung doesn't want it to be that way, but he doesn't know how to make it better.

"It's fine, I'm just...I don't know," Jimin mutters, playing with his fingers.

"I'll stay at the end of the room, okay?" Taehyung asks. "I really don't want you to be uncomfortable and I promised I wouldn't do anything sketchy so..." he trails off, taking a few steps back. "Is that okay?"

Jimin nods and watches him go. When Taehyung has reached the back of the room, the younger one moves towards the center of the ball room and Taehyung finds himself going back to the day at the college theatre room.

"I can't believe you really reserved this ballroom," Jimin says and since they're the only ones in the large space, his voice echoes against the walls.

"I wanted to make sure you'd be comfortable and I thought that maybe it was something you'd like," Taehyung replies, crossing his arms over his chest.

He's aware that this situation is a bit...awkward. Jimin is all alone at the centre of the room and Taehyung is several feet away, just standing there and he'll be watching . But he really wants this to be good. When Jimin had texted him that he was willing to give it a try, just once and as long as Taehyung didn't try anything weird, Taehyung had hurried up to make sure everything was ready and perfect for him.

And now they're here. Jimin had arrived already dressed in what seem to be his practice clothes and he'd been acting much different to ho he'd acted the first two times they'd seen each other. Taehyung wishes they could go back to how it was, to the flirting and getting to know each other and possibly spending more time together, but he has this and he's going to make sure to enjoy it as much as he can, even if Jimin doesn't reply to him every again.

"I never thought I'd dance in a ballroom," Jimin points out.

"Consider this practice for when you're a professional," Taehyung says.

"I won't dance professionally," Jimin replies.

"Well, in case you ever decide to," Taehyung corrects himself.

Jimin does a slow turn, looking around the place. Taehyung smiles to himself. He says he doesn't want to dance professionally but it's clear that he does. Taehyung has seen him when dancing and his expression while doing so, his emotions while doing so, all point to that. He loves dancing, it might be the time in which he's the happiest. And Taehyung wants to know why he seems so adamant about not pursuing it.

"So, what do you want me to dance to?" Jimin asks, sitting down on the floor and stretching his legs in front of him. He reaches for his feet and tilts his head to the side. Taehyung suddenly wishes he hadn't decided to stay at the other end of the room.

"Serendipity."

Jimin's eyebrows shoot up.

"You saw that last time," he says.
