"Good morning, everyone," Lauren began, addressing her five daughters who had been roused at an early 6 AM and gathered in the living room. "Your mother and I have come to a significant decision we want to share with you."

"Are you two getting a divorce?" Ella inquired immediately, while Emma simultaneously wondered, "Is Mom pregnant?"

Amelia yawned, still groggy, playfully nudged Emma, remarking, "Nah Mom's definitely not having a baby at her age."

"Amelia Rose! I'm just 44," Camila retorted, feeling stung by the comment about her age. "And no, divorce is not on the table. Please, let's focus."

Once Camila distributed juice to everyone, Lauren wasted no time in getting to the point. "Starting with you, Amelia Rose, I need my card back," she stated firmly, eliciting a shocked gasp from her daughter. "Before you head to class, place the card on this table. You'll receive a monthly allowance on your personal card." continued, getting straight to the point not wasting anytime.

another louder gasp "Mom, are you serious? Monthly?!" Amelia exclaimed in disbelief.

"Do I appear to be joking?" Lauren's tone remained resolute. "Yes, a monthly allowance, along with monthly shopping. No discussions."

Amelia, feeling confused and upset, asked, "Did I do something wrong? Why are you punishing me?"

"We're just setting some rules in this household, dear," Lauren replied, unmoved by her daughter's distress. "And no, this isn't negotiable."

Camila whispered to her wife, "You're being a bit tough, love," as the idea of monthly shopping seemed daunting, " Dear Lord better let this be a dream" Amelia closed her eyes praying.

" God! Ok princess twice a month, not up for negotiation. Moving on" pointing at the triplets, " no games and outings during school nights, starting from next week you will be using the school bus instead of David driving you to- WHAT! - NO BUT MA!

- Not up for discussion kids!" Lauren yelled, slamming her hand on the table, after her daughters interrupted her. It was Amelia's turn to laugh at her sisters. Although she was usually the fun parent, that never refuses a a desire or order from her princesses ,her daughters knew to fear her when she became stern and unyielding.

"I understand this is all new to everyone and w-  Ava, are you even listening?" Lauren asked, noticing her daughter's lack of response, seems like she's in another world "She's not wearing her hearing aids, Ma," Emma explained.

Before Lauren could react, Camila stepped in, gently tapping Ava's shoulder as a signal to put on her hearing aids.

Taking a deep breath, Lauren tried to remain composed while her wife reassured her with a comforting squeeze of her hand. "I'm sorry," Ava whispered.

"Next time, if you're not going to listen, don't bother coming down," Lauren said sternly, trying to keep her tone in check. Camila squeezed her hand, urging her to let it slide this time. "Go to your room, Ava," Lauren ordered, feeling too pissed to engage further.

"Honey, let it go this time. She apologized and we—" Camila began, but Lauren interrupted firmly, "I'm not going to repeat myself. Up to your room now."Ava silently excused herself, feeling upset, though she didn't outwardly show it. Once upstairs, she pondered the situation, feeling a mix of emotions.

With the tension escalating after the incident with Ava, the atmosphere in the room changed. Her daughters, now quieter, listened attentively as Lauren laid out the rules. Despite finding the rules ridiculous, they refrained from challenging her authority, particularly after seeing how she treated Ava.
