VERONICA VALDEZ

After the dinner I went to my room to relax, thinking about Theo and his weird behavior. Why would he want to hold my hand? We barely know each other. It was probably a dare...

I laid on the bed, staring at the ceiling. My head was hurting a bit, probably from the lack of sleep. I have been waking up in the middle of my sleep multiple times a night since I heard about my fathers new job. The nightmares were crazy, but I'm pretty sure that the white hairless guinea pig could make them true if he really wanted to. I didn't like the situation one bit, and when I did do much as even thought about it, I felt sick. It still creeped me out, and especially the fact that Voldemort was so friendly with my dad was definitely odd.
I turned on my side, and zoned out for a moment, before taking my phone from the nightstand. I wrote the password, 5926, and unlocked the phone, going into snapchat. I immediately noticed that my best friend Ava had sent me a chat, and I opened it straight away.

'Why the fuck are you at Malfoys?' The text read. I sighed, because now I had to explain the whole thing to her and honestly I didn't have the energy right now.

'I'll explain laterrr' I sent back, noticing her bitmoji popping up immediately when I started typing. Fucking stalker, she was probably waiting for my answer and checking my location.

'Nooo explain now!! Do you two have a thing or smthng?' She sent back.

'Hell the fuck no, ew' I almost gagged at the thought. I definitely wasn't here willingly. If only I could go back to my own apartment and continue my life as before. I had to quit my job at the cafe because of this, and even though my dad promised to give me as much money as I needed, it still annoyed me. It was my first real job, and I didn't want to give it up that quickly, but I didn't even have a choice.

'Then what is it Ver?'

'Nothing, I'll call you tomorrow. I'm having a horrible headache rn'

'Promise?'

'I promise.'

I sighed again, putting my phone away. Ava had been my best friend since our first year at Hogwarts. She had been always there for me, during the bad and the good times. I was trying my very best to return the favor, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job at it since she's still my friend after five years.

Or I'm a complete shithead and she just doesn't want to admit it.

Once I pushed those thoughts out of my head, I noticed I felt really thirsty. My head was hurting more and more, and I needed water. I got up and walked to the door, thinking about how I could get to the kitchen or at least a bathroom. I tried to remember what way the dining room was, the mansion was so huge I felt like I could get lost in there.

Where do they even need this much space? This is just showing off at this point.

I left the room and went to a hallway that was on the left. Old portraits of wizards and witches were hanging on the walls. They were barely visible, as it was quite late and all the light that came from outside had already disappeared. The whole hallway was dimly lit, only a occasional candle was lit through the hallway. There were many door on both sides of the hallway, and I couldn't help but wonder what was behind them. I didn't dare to snoop around though, so I just kept on walking until I got into a hall. On the right were stairs going down, and on the left was another hallway.

I don't remember being here before... why couldn't Narcissa even tell me where here is a freaking bathroom?

I made the decision to go down the stairs, even though I was kind of skeptical. I have watched enough horror movies to know that going down is never a good idea. There's always some kind of demon that's going to eat me or something.
I felt really creeped out, especially because the house was old and made some weird noises, like someone was walking above me.
I walked down the stairs, coming to another hallway. This one was properly lit, and felt somehow warmer than the previous hallway. There were also many doors and portraits. The Malfoys seem to have a big family. If those even are their family.

I could hear some talking in one of the rooms in it

I could hear some talking in one of the rooms in it. I went a little closer, and tried to listen if I could hear who it was.
I got surprised when I heard my dads voice. He was talking to someone, but they were keeping quiet so I couldn't know who. I sneaked closer to the door, and stood still, listening.

"...I'm just really worried about her, you know? I don't want anything to happen to her because of my job..."
He was talking about me for sure.
"...I was thinking that maybe you guys could keep an eye on her when I'm not here? You obviously don't have to, but it'd really calm my nerves..."

Excuse me, what?  I'm not a baby who needs some kind of babysitting! And if he's talking to who I think he is, I'm literally going to...

"Of course, Mr. Valdez."
Oh my God. It was Tom.

"Yeah, it's no problem."
An there goes Mattheo...

"I mean... why not?"
I'm going to punch someone. Especially Theo.

"Sure."
Lorenzo... I feel lightheaded...

"I think we can handle one fifteen year old girl."
Freaking Draco. I could cry.

Yeah, I don't think water is enough for me at this point. I need fucking alcohol.

And possibly drugs.

And just maybe something that'll put me into a coma for the summer.

I walked quietly from the door before anyone could see me, and continued my search, my head now filled with much different thoughts.

If they think they have any kind of control over me, they're wrong. I'm going to prove them wrong.

Slay queen or whatever.
