VERONICA VALDEZ
I got ready for bed, tossing my clothes in a pile on the floor. I would have to go to the bathroom to brush my teeth, but first I'd get everything ready so that afterwards I could jump right into bed and fall into a peaceful slumber. After this day, I really needed it. I hadn't done much else but read books, but I felt exhausted. Those five boys really made my head hurt.
I changed into a cute pajama set, that my mom had gotten for me last Christmas. It was from Victoria's Secret, and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it.I put it on and made my way to the bathroom. I knew how to get there, because Dobby showed it to me.
I brushed my teeth, as well as my hair, and went back to my room. I got in bed, and watched Netflix for a moment before trying to sleep. Unfortunately I didn't sleep.I rolled in bed, unable to sleep for hours. I groaned in annoyance, and sat up on the bed, taking my phone into my hand. I checked the time on my phone's screen. 03.16.
I'll be sleeping all day tomorrow.
I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep yet, no matter how many times I would turn sides, so I got up and pulled a white sweater over my head. I needed fresh air, maybe afterwards I'd fall asleep?
I put my phone into my pocket and quietly opened the door, sneaking out. I had seen a balcony somewhere near the dining room, so I started walking there. I had finally started to learn how to go to the bathroom, front door and the dining room. The rest of the mansion was still a mystery to me.
The mansion was truly beautiful, even though being here wasn't really my choice. Most of the furniture around the manor was made of dark wood and carefully placed into just the right spot to make the room look as good as possible. The simple yet fancy decorations around the house looked beautiful and expensive. It would have been my dream to live in a place like this, if only the five assholes wouldn't be around.
Oops, my mistake, six. Voldemort isn't any better. As I walked through the halls, I heard a small clatter behind me, but when I turned around, nobody was there. It creeped me out, but I just decided to ignore it, thinking that it probably was just the old mansion making noises.
It didn't take long for me to reach the dining room, and start looking for the balcony. I had no idea if I was even allowed to sneak in the halls during the night, but no one told me no, so that's basically a yes.
I walked to the spot I had sat in during dinner, and saw the balcony again. I walked there, and opened the door quietly. The cold air hit my face, and I took a moment to breathe, before stepping through the door."Trying to escape?"
Oh my fucking god. I felt like my pulse went to 200 in a second.
I turned around, and saw Tom. He was wearing grey sweatpants, and a loose t shirt, his muscles still visible under it. I have never seen him in such normal clothing.
I let out a sigh of relief and glared at him.
"You almost gave me a heart attack."
He smirked, and got into the balcony with me, closing the door behind him.
"Yeah... it's one of my hobbies.""I really don't know what went wrong when your father raised you, but something definitely did", I said as I leaned onto the railing of the balcony.
"My father raised no one. Not me or Mattheo. It was the maids, he was way too busy with his own things," He said, with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Sorry, didn't mean to offend you. But you know what I meant."
"Maybe I do."I looked at his face for a moment, before speaking again.
"What are Theodore and Lorenzo doing here? I doubt they live here."
He turned his gaze on me, studying my face with his piercing dark eyes. Despite his shitty attitude, he was beautiful.
"They're spending some of the summer here. Theo didn't want to go to Italy, and Enzo? You do know they're also death eaters, correct?"
"No, I did not know that. But it's whatever, it's none of my business anyway," I said and turned around, looking at the view.
The mansion was basically in the middle of nowhere, only their garden and a big forest visible even though the balcony was high in the third floor.
"Do you live here?" I asked after a while.
"No. But we spend a lot of time here in the holidays. Actually a lot more than in the Riddle manor," He answered. Even though I wasn't looking at him, I could feel his eyes burning holes in my back.
I answered nothing to him, I didn't know what to say. It was getting kind of chilly, the sweater wasn't too warm and I shivered.
"I should get back," I told him and made my way to the door. "Good night."
He looked at me for a moment, not moving. "Night."
I got inside and quickly walked back to my own room, wondering if Tom stayed outside, in the cold air. He was wearing only a t shirt.
Isn't he cold?
Hold on. Why am I worrying about him? This is bullshit.
I forced myself to think of anything else, and got rid of the sweater. I went under the cool blanket and closed my eyes, trying to fall asleep. But my head was a whole mess. It was probably because of the lack of sleep, I assured to myself. It had nothing to do with Tom.
I didn't even know what to think, I was way too tired. I had my opinions about each of the boys, and right now, I think my favorite is...
