"I've never seen her that upset before." I told Rick.

"It's just going to get worse from here. Moving work is how she's able to live like this. Not those restaurants and salons. She's about to be in a 3-month drought. A few things you don't fuck with when it comes to Layton Brooks and that's her family and her money. You come in between those and it's over, she doesn't give a fuck who you are. You think her brother is crazy, she's worse."

"Damn."

"Remember when I told you how real shit gets around here when she's stressed?" I nodded.

"Well, you're about to witness that. I hope you're ready to see Layton fight one of her demons." I looked at him confused.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Just wait. You'll see exactly what I mean." With that, he walked away to go get Lay. I took a deep breath and then pulled out my phone. I had to let my captain know about this. Shit is about to get worse from here. I really need to prepare myself.

Rick drove us to the warehouse. The whole ride Lay was quiet which is what I expected but I didn't expect her to be close to me because of how upset she was. This was just supposed to be a case but I'm feeling her. I'm breaking the rules in the book right now but I don't care because she's all I'm worried about right now. We all walked into the now-empty warehouse. We saw one of her workers who snitched in a chair.

I watched Layton grab her gun and walk over to Jeff. The one worker who she was nice enough to give a million chances to bring her money but never did. I remember her telling me about certain workers she had that she gave a chance to or let loose. I know now she was regretting this shit with Jeff. So not only is he a liar, but he's also a snake and Lay doesn't like snakes.

Jeff looked up at her with blood pouring down his face from the beating he just received. I watched her grab the blunt from Mike and take a few puffs before passing it back.

"Respect has really been lacking around here. I think too many people have forgotten who the fuck I am." She said, placing the barrel of the gun at his temple.

"I was being nice to you Jeff, I gave you so many opportunities and you took advantage of that. Then I hear that you talking shit about me and my brother behind my back. Now you know that there are two things I don't play about. My fucking money and my brother. You fucked up on both ends. So what should I do to you?" He could barely focus, slipping in and out of consciousness.

"I think I'm going to make an example out of you." She placed her gun on the table and picked up a steel bat, sending a blow to his head. His head cracked and blood trickled down.

"Bet you wish you gave me my money now don't you?!" She yelled. Another hit went to his head and he fell out of the chair. She just kept going and going. Blood splattered all over her. She was pissed. His meat came out of his head. She didn't want to stop.
