Dominic Hayes

I walked downstairs after putting on some comfortable clothes it's the middle of the day, me and Layton have been chilling in the house. I had to leave and go to the precinct. I wanted to find a way to get off this case. I walked into the kitchen and saw Rick and Lay.

"Hey baby I have to step out for a few." I said as I walked up to her.

"Aw, do you have to? We were supposed to be chilling all day."

"Ain't you down here with Rick? Oh, but we chilling." Rick laughed.

"He got you." Lay rolled her eyes.

"Just hurry back." I nodded and kissed her. I grabbed my keys off the hook and left the house. After a thirty-minute drive, I found a parking spot in the parking lot. I took the elevator. I got off on the floor going to my desk. I saw Adonis.

"Hey, man." He said. I dapped him up.

"Hey is the captain in?" He nodded.

"Where have you been at?"

"Working. I still have a case."

"Oh right the Brooks case? How's that?" I looked up at him, then back at folders on my desk.

"It's okay. I'll be back."

"I hope you ain't fall for that hoe." He said.

"What?"

"It's a case, Dom, you haven't brought anything up."

"No, I haven't brought anything to you. There's a difference. Why you are being like that and calling her out name?"

"Oh, so you defending her now." I furrowed my eyebrows. What's his problem?

"I don't know what your problem is dude."

"I miss having my best friend here. Yet you up under her ass." I sighed.

"I'm not up her ass I'm working. Just like you working here. How's my cousin and baby girl?"

"Both are okay. They miss you."

"I'll come over before I go to Virginia."

"When are you going?"

"Two days before Thanksgiving." He nodded.

"You finally going to see your mom? I don't know why you never come with me when I go."

"I didn't want to go home. I wanted to keep working and now I have a good 5 years of vacation time. Now I'll catch up with you later. I have to talk to Captain." I went to the Captain's office and walked in. She looked up from what she was reading.

"Hayes. How's the case?"

"That's why I'm here." I sat down.

"I'm not getting anywhere with the case and I would like to be taken off the case. I understand that Detective Wright was killed due to this case but I'm working as her bodyguard. I don't see why or how she's the big profile case."

"I would have to give West LA the case because it was their cop killed. It'll be nice to have you back on the field."

"Actually, I'd like to take time off. I need to go home and see my family and reconnect with them." She nodded.

"I understand, I hope you enjoy your time with your family." I got up and shook her hand.

"Thank you again, Captain."

"Always Hayes." I walked out of the office and went back to my desk. I decided to text Lay.
