"Please, shut up!" I shout. It was a little mean.

A newer pup was going on its first hunt with my group. He was so excited, but he would scare away all game if he kept it up.

"Sorry" he said. He put his head down in shame.

Finally! I think. I perk my ears up as the wind floats our way. There are two smells. The first I had no worry about. Horses. Wild and free.

It's the second that made me growl a warning. Hunters. How could they have found us? Last I checked the nearest ones to us were ten miles north.

"What's going on?" The pup asks. I could sense his fear, even though he tried to cover it.

"Hunters" I whisper. The whole team immediately went on edge. I was able to feel the tension in the air.

"We can't stay" one of them says. "We'll all be killed!"

"Shh!" I hush them. "We're going back. Quietly."

Some tension lifted from the air. Only a small fraction though. Thank God I was in this team. They all would've died if I hadn't been here with my past knowledge.

I saw smoke go up in the sky and knew the hunters would be distracted now. I quickly think of a plan to get us out a safe a possible.

"Alright. Get into a huddle position. Stay close together and lets move. Quietly!"

They all immediately move into their formation. We silently move toward the pack house, far away from here. I stop suddenly when I hear a loud whoop come from the camp. They're getting drunk now.

I immediately start to quicken my pace. I find the clearing soon enough.

Only just a bit further, I think. Finally I see the lights of our house windows. I sigh in relief.

We all barge into the house, after getting dressed outside of course.

"Emergency meeting! Now!" I scream.

The house went into chaos after that. People running around to get to their spots in our living room. Yes, that's where I hold emergency meetings.

"What's going on?" I hear someone ask. I turn to see its no other than Daren himself.

"O I'll tell you what's wrong" I threaten through gritted teeth.

~Daren~

"Hunters?" I ask after Veronica explained what happened. "Here? Aren't they way up north?"

She glared at me for a moment then answered.

"Exactly. Something attracted them here. I want to know what." She explained. There was a moment of everyone whispering to each other, trying to figure out what it was.

"Quiet!" She shouted after a minute. "I'm sending out Jake and Daren to spy on the Hunters and figure out what's going on."

"What?!" Me and I'm guessing the pup named Jake shout.

"Veronica. Take a moment and think. We need real spies. Not me and this pup." I say. Jake looked a little hurt.

It was true though. He was a small maybe 13 year old kid.

"I have thought." She said. "You seem as no threat to them, so it seems logical to send you both out."

"No threat? If they see me they'll immediately know I'm no regular wolf and that'll put Jake in trouble."

"Ah, but that's why you're spies." She stated matter of factly. We argued for a little longer before I finally gave in. She was alpha, after all. She was going to win anyway.

Jake and I had five minutes to get ready. I pretty much wasted the time. Jake, though, got to it. He brought a change of clothes an hid them in the trees. He ate and did some warm-ups. I admit that I was impressed.

"Alright lets go" he said. He sounded very much ready and excited.

"Ok. Remember, we have to be stealthy. No screw ups." I joke. He smirked and ran out the door.

When I got out and changed to my wolf he was already a step ahead of me. His wolf was light brown, like his hair. The wolf was smaller than mine, but big for his age. Again, very impressed.

He nodded his head forward and we set off for our mission.

I looked out my window into the woods. It was a cold night again. I saw smoke and heard laughing. They were probably hunters.

Strange, I think. There have never been hunters here before.

"Ow!" I yell. A searing pain shot through my neck. I grasped it with my hand. This must be what the shingles feel like.

The burning pain remained there for the rest if the time I looked out the window. I couldn't feel the pain anymore as I jumped from my spot. My mouth gaped open and the only thing I could say was, "Wolves."

There was an abnormally large black wolf and medium sized brown one. The black one made me think of my dreams. That thought made me have a minute of insane courage.

I threw open our back door and ran into the freezing snow. Bare foot. All I had was a tank top and some sweat pants on.

I stopped in my tracks for a second. What was I thinking? I'm going crazy! I caught sight of the wolves again and immediately pushed those thoughts aside.

I ran until the I could see the fire that the hunters were around. I let out a scream. They all turned to face me. I felt like I was at a party uninvited or I was naked!

"Wolves!" I shriek and point. Suddenly they were all up and forgot about me. They grabbed guns that seemed a little too extreme for a couple wolves.

A lady came up to me. She had short hair and a shotgun in hand.

"I think you should head home miss" she said gently. I just nodded and ran.

I couldn't feel my feet. The heat of my house felt strange. I ran up the stairs too my room, closed the door, and shut my window blinds.

It was great that my parents weren't home at the time. They had gone away on a trip for the weekend. They would be back Tuesday.

When I laid down on my bed I started balling. I felt so alone and helpless. The wolf that had haunted my dreams for so long had just popped up in my backyard tonight. It wasn't a great feeling, helplessness. It was like being a small child left at a store by yourself. You don't know what to do.

I fell asleep crying after a few minutes. What a weekend.
