I observed her face as she meticulously set the table, her focus solely on the plates, utensils, and the food she was arranging. It was impossible for me to read her thoughts.

Did she have any regrets about what had happened? Had she come to the realization that her actions were driven by the overwhelming emotions of the situation? Did she resent the fact that...

Before I could finish my train of thought, she took a seat across from me and tilted her head, her gaze fixed on my confused expression.

"Are you overthinking again?" Jennie asked bluntly, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, um... sorry, I was just lost in thought," I stammered, clearing my throat and scratching the back of my head.

She hummed in response and served the food onto my plate. "You need to eat more, Y/N. I don't know what you've been up to for the past two years, but you don't look well."

A frown formed on my face. "What was I supposed to do during that time? You know I can't cook."

She sighed and met my gaze once again. "You can't rely on others to take care of you all the time. You need to learn how to live independently."

Under the table, my fingers fidgeted nervously, deepening my frown. She must have noticed my unease, as her expression softened.

I swallowed hard and nodded. "I understand that I can't expect you to carry me forever, Jennie. I'm sorry."

She hummed and reached for her phone, which was resting on the table. "It's already late. Maybe you could stay here tonight instead of going home."

A blush crept onto my cheeks as I glanced at the time. "Yeah, but wouldn't it make you uncomfortable having me around?"

Jennie shook her head slightly and gestured towards my plate. "Just eat."

"Okay."

"Good."

I swallowed nervously as she observed my fingers picking up the spoon and scooping the soup. The taste was exquisite, and it must have shown on my face because I caught a faint smile playing on her lips.

"This is delicious, Jennie."

"Of course it is." she replied confidently.

"I wish I could enjoy your cooking every day," I mused.

"Mm..." she responded, her attention focused on her own meal.

I continued eating, savoring each bite, while she did the same. As I surveyed the array of food before me, I couldn't help but smile. Jennie had prepared everything according to my taste buds, a thoughtful gesture that warmed my heart.

As I ate, my gaze wandered around Jennie's apartment. Aside from the photos adorning the walls, I couldn't help but notice the teddy bear I had given her when we were still together, sitting on the couch. I hummed softly, and Jennie's eyes met mine.

"What's wrong?" she asked, concern evident in her voice.

"N-nothing, don't mind me," I replied, trying to brush off my thoughts.
