"Alright." Lily nodded.

James Carter rose and left the room.

Outside, Chris Cloud was already waiting, holding a bag. Seeing James emerge, he quickly followed.

"Sir, the perpetrator left the country yesterday. We've already sent someone to bring him back," he reported.

"Have you found the person behind this?" James asked coldly, his primary concern being who wanted Lily harmed.

"We're still investigating."

James paused, his voice growing colder, "Three days at most."

Chris quickly lowered his head, "Yes, sir."

James didn't say anything more, taking the bag from Chris and walking into the bathroom. When he came out, he had transformed into the cold, decisive James Carter. He picked a tie from the wardrobe and began fiddling with it in front of the mirror.

As he left, he saw Chris still waiting and suddenly said, "Check on Emma Wilson."

"Yes, sir."

When James Carter entered Lily's hospital room, she was sipping soup.

The attentive nurse noticed him first, smiling and greeting him, "Sir, you've arrived."

James nodded with a brief "Hmm."

Lily looked up to see James in a black suit, standing tall at the door, watching her. The handcrafted case, immaculately ironed without a single crease, made his long legs look even more elegant. His unique aura was so captivating that it was hard not to want to claim him as one's own.

Lily stared at James standing in the doorway, remembering what he had said earlier. She wondered how she had resisted him, questioning if she had been out of her mind. How could she have remained composed and let such a perfect man chase her for nearly half a year?

James's lips curved into a satisfied smile, pleased with Lily's reaction to his presence. He stepped forward, "Have you eaten?"

Lily shook her head, only taking a sip of soup before he came in.

"And you?" she asked.

"I haven't eaten either."

A quick-witted nurse said, "Sir, Mr. Cloud instructed me to bring meals for two. I'll just set them up." She turned to pick up the food basket from the coffee table and headed towards the dining area.

"No need; Lily can't get out of bed."

"Oh dear, silly me." The nurse slapped her thigh, then brought the basket over, setting up the medical dining table at Lily's bedside. After arranging the food, she left.

Only then did James step forward, taking the bowl from Lily's hands. He naturally spooned up some soup, blowing on it before gently offering it to her.

Lily's cheeks reddened slightly, and she awkwardly reached out, "I can eat by myself."

"Open your mouth," James gently instructed, indicating with his eyes.

Lily eventually relented and slowly opened her mouth.

"Did you used to feed me like this?" she asked, somewhat embarrassed.

She still couldn't believe the man before she was her husband that such a perfect man belonged to her.

"You would sometimes act coquettishly like this," James recalled with a soft laugh, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Lily bit her lip, "Why are you laughing?"

"Nothing." James picked up a handkerchief from his chest pocket, gently wiping away the grease from Lily's mouth.

Lily snatched the bowl from James's hands and set it down, then handed him a bowl of white rice, "You eat."

Looking at the white rice in his hands and then at Lily, her ears slightly red, he knew she was feeling shy again.
