She was dressed in tattered clothes, looking dirty and unkempt. If it weren't for Lily's deep familiarity with Emma Wilson, she wouldn't have recognized who it was.
"Emma Wilson!" Lily said with narrowed eyes and a cold voice.
"Heh, I'm glad you still remember me," Emma Wilson sneered coldly.
She glanced around the hospital room before her gaze landed on Lily's face. "You're fortunate, falling from such a height and still not dying!"
"Sorry to disappoint you."
"Not disappointed because today you're going to die!" Emma Wilson raised the knife she had been holding in her hand and viciously lunged at Lily.
Lily hadn't expected Emma Wilson to have hidden a knife and hadn't noticed it before.
As Emma Wilson lunged at her, Lily quickly threw off the covers and jumped out of bed.
Emma Wilson didn't expect the seemingly weak Lily to have strength still. She chased after Lily with a dark expression.
Lily ran towards the door, only to find it locked when she tried to open it.
Emma Wilson, arriving in front of her, laughed heartily at Lily's panicked and fearful look. She held up a key, "I locked the door from the inside when I came in. Without this key, you can't get out."
Lily banged on the door, "Chris Cloud!"
She was still frail; her quick reaction had drained her strength just now.
"Don't waste your energy. I saw him leave the hospital with my own eyes. He won't be back in time to save you."
Emma Wilson approached Lily step by step, holding the knife, a chilling smile on her dirty face.
Lily slowly moved back against the wall.
"Emma Wilson, must you go this far? I never wronged you. Why do you keep trying to harm me, to kill me?"
"You didn't wrong me, but the fact you lived a better life than me, married better than me, that's your mistake. Why should such a wealthy and handsome man, James Carter, belong only to you? Why must I suffer the pain brought by those crude and dirty men?"
"So many people live better and marry better than you. Why do you specifically target me?"
"Why? Because we were good friends. Shouldn't friends share joys and sorrows? All the blessings were yours, while I was left with only hardships. It's not fair."
Emma Wilson glared at Lily with eyes full of hatred, "Why is everything better for you? Where am I inferior to you? I can't accept it!"
"If I'm not living well, then I won't let you live better than me."
Emma Wilson, not wanting to waste more time talking, raised her knife and lunged at Lily again.
Lily's eyes widened in panic, and she frantically grabbed anything she could reach to throw at Emma Wilson.
Remote controls, potted plants, water glasses – various objects occasionally hit Emma Wilson.
This completely infuriated her.
The rage and hatred in her eyes burned fiercer, wishing she could tear Lily apart.
When Lily had nothing to throw, Emma Wilson's mouth twisted into a cold sneer, "Keep throwing."
Lily was startled by the crazed hatred in Emma Wilson's eyes and kept moving away.
But how could her body, still recovering from a severe illness, contend with Emma Wilson?
Emma Wilson quickly stepped forward, grabbed Lily by her clothes, and laughed maniacally, "You can't escape."
"Don't worry, I won't kill you with one stroke. I'll make you wish you were dead."
Just as Emma Wilson finished speaking, the knife in her hand slashed across Lily's face.
"Ah!"
