James Carter watched Lily stare at the children, gently pinching her chin, making her look at him, "Do you like kids?"

"Uh-huh." Lily nodded.

Then she asked James Carter, "Don't we have any kids?"

James Carter, seeing the longing in Lily's eyes, suddenly remembered the child he had personally killed.

He still vividly remembers Lily's howl at him; he would surely regret it, for it was his child.

A dull pain gripped James Carter's heart, his hand resting on his chest.

If... if that was his and Lily's child, what if one day Lily remembers? How would he face her? How could he justify killing his child with his hands?

"Honey, what's wrong?" Lily's face filled with worry, her hands tightly grasping his other hand.

James Carter smiled, "I'm fine."

"Are you okay? Don't lie to me." Lily's eyes were full of concern.

"I'm fine, don't worry."

"That's good." Lily nodded.

"My wife likes kids; let's have one when you're better, okay?" James Carter said, caressing Lily's cheek.

"Okay." Lily blushed and nodded.

"Let's walk around some more."

"Uh-huh, okay."

James Carter stood up and wheeled Lily around the grassy area until she grew tired, then returned to the hospital room.

Once Lily was sound asleep, James Carter left for the outside compartment.

Chris Cloud had been waiting outside and quickly reported to James Carter upon his appearance.

James Carter sat on the sofa, flipping through the documents in his hand and signing his name after verifying them.

He handed the documents to Chris Cloud and asked, "Any progress on the matter?"

"The culprit was dead when our people got there; the only lead is gone; we have to start over."

"What has Mark Johnson been up to lately?"

"He's been seeing Emma Wilson quite frequently."

James Carter narrowed his eyes slightly, "Bring her to me." He still had to settle the last incident with her.

"Yes." After Chris Cloud responded, he left.

Hotel near the hospital.

When Emma Wilson learned that James Carter wanted to meet her at the hotel, her heart fluttered.

Dressed in a sexy outfit and beautifully made up, she hurried over.

In front of the room, Emma Wilson's hands were sweaty with nervousness. Meeting at a hotel, she knew exactly what it meant, and thinking about what was about to happen, she could no longer contain herself.

After the last incident with Lily was interrupted, so many days had passed without contact from James Carter. She thought it was over, but to her surprise, he asked to meet her again.

Emma Wilson took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

A strange man opened the door.

Emma WilsonPuzzled Emma Wilson confirmed the room number, ensuring she hadn't gone to the wrong place.

"Who are you? Why are you here? This is James Carter's place."

The man smirked meaningfully, touching his mouth, "He's the one who sent us here." After saying this, the man pulled Emma Wilson into the room.

It was then that Emma Wilson realized there was no sign of James Carter in the room, only three sleazy-looking men.

Emma Wilson panicked, finally understanding she had been set up.

She was too naïve to harbour unsuitable thoughts about James Carter still. It was too late to escape...
