The Aftermath.

NOVA-

I opened my eyes to see Asante sitting next to Jared and Skylar as his leg anxiously bounced up and down.
He seen me awake before immediately standing up.

I looked around to see my connected to a bunch of machines before I came into realization.

"Zaeda." I said, my voice cracked and and I felt a sharp pain in my chest once I sat up and began snatching the cords from my body

"Nova, aye man chill out." Asante told me before attempting to stop me.

"Chill out ? Where is Zaeda ? Where the fuck-" I stopped talking before getting out of the bed and immediately feeling pain run through my body

"I can promise you were working on it Nova but you can't-"

I groaned in pain before slightly falling down causing for Jared and Asante to catch me and assist me back into the bed

"Please man, I need you to trust me just this once."

"He has Zae, I refuse to rest in this fucking hospital while she's unsafe." I told him

"And we understand that more than anybody will, trust us, we are on it." Jared said

"Man fuck no-"

"Nova, we will get to her I got people on it right now as we speak, but you're not capable to help her right now Nova, the most you can do it at least heal up enough to where you can help her." Jared replied before assisting me back into the bed

The nurse walked inside with my ma behind her and she looked as if a weight was lifted off her shoulders

She quickly came over to hug me.

"Thank you God." She cried before feeling over my face and wiping her tears

"Zaeda Garner did y'all get her medical attention ?" I asked cause for the nurse to give me a confused look

"My pregnant girlfriend, she was in the passenger seat, somebody else was there and-"

"Her sister told us that she was with you but there was nobody else at the scene when we arrived

"Cameras, did y'all see where they went, where they might've taken her ?" I asked

"These are questions that you can ask the authorities when they come in, but first we have to do a couple of tests to make sure you're ok before we start looking into anything else." She told me

I ran my hand down my face before rubbing my eyes.

"Where's my phone?" I asked

"Everything was lost in the fire baby." My ma replied

"Fire ?" I asked

Asante and Jared looked at each other.

"The car was on fire when authorities arrived, they pulled you out just before it blew up." Asante replied

"You're lucky to be with us today." The nurse replied before sliding on gloves.

"You took a heavy hit.. the good news is you have no fractures or broken bones." She informed

"But, when we brought him in you were suffering from internal bleeding and a mild case of traumatic brain injury, the impact caused your neck to snap forward which impacted your skull from what appeared to be the window." She explained

"Oh my.. how does treatment look for that?" My ma asked

"We're going to keep him here over night just to be safe and also to make sure that there isn't anymore internal bleeding, we're gonna start by prescribing Anticoagulants to prevent any blood clots near the brain, and we're also going to run a couple of cat scans tonight as well as other tests." She explained
