Chapter 18-"You're pregnant"

'You're pregnant' are words I had never expected to hear until I was at least 24 or even a little older. But this is now, at the age of 17. I'm not ready for this. I wanted to travel the world. I wanted to enjoy my life before being tied down with a child. I'm probably not even responsible enough to actually care for a baby..Wait, I'm forgetting the main point. This was Beaus baby, not Luke's.

"Bu-but I-I....pregnant?!" I could not believe what I was being told. It's like all the blood rushes to your head and you feel every emotion, good and bad, rushing through your veins all at once.

"Yes, I'm afraid so!" The doctor said in a happy tone, though he did not actually realise how much pain I was in right now.

I looked over to Luke. He was lifeless. Just sitting in the chair beside my bed, staring straight in front of him but like he wasn't even in the same room as anyone. I reached out to hold his hand.

"Luke, I-"

He pulled his hand away and quickly stood up from his chair.

"No Kayla. How could you do this? I thought you were a virgin...Is this why you were avoiding me? Is it? Wait- who's the father Kayla?"

How could I tell him? I just simply looked away from him, allowing tears to roll down the side of my face.

I didn't need to say anything. He could tell, I know he could.

"Oh god. No, Kayla it isn't is it?! No.....Kayla, is Beau the father?" Luke asked me as his voice almost sounded like he was about to cry. I nodded hesitantly.

He rubbed his hands on his face before punching the wall several times in anger. Every punch was like him releasing a part of himself, wishing he could just disappear for a while and make everything better.

"...Luke.....Please....Stop..." I could just about get my words out, sniffing and sobbing a little more I between each word.

"Kayla I just need some time. Just some time to think. I'll call your mum and tell her you're here. You should probably tell Beau that he's the father to your child." He headed to the door and turned around just before he closed the door he said "I'll see you around."

And he was gone.
