Chapter 24-Beau finds out

*Heathers P.O.V.*

"Beau! I'm still waiting for that pair of knickers! Hey are you still there?" I asked from behind my bathroom door. There was no reply so I got my towel and wrapped it round my body, securing it so that it wouldn't fall down. I opened my door and peeped my head out of the door. I scanned my room until I saw Beau. He was standing my my chest of draws, facing away from me but it looked like his attention was focused on something. Oh god he better not be stroking my underwear.....!

"Beau? Some underwear please?" I asked him.

At first he didn't reply but then he suddenly turned around to face me. Oh god...He had found those pregnancy booklets I hid in my draw a month ago. Then he looked up at me and held up a small piece of paper. I could see what it was straight away. It was the scan. My baby. Well, our baby.

I stepped out of the bathroom and stared to take a few steps towards him.

"Beau I...I can explain ok? It's-"

"You're pregnant aren't you?"

"Yes. But-"

"So is this why you've been avoiding me? Because you're pregnant? Kayla, I don't mind the fact that you're my brothers girlfriend but honestly, a sensible girl like you should've known to use protection. And another thing-"

"Beau. Stop." I cut him off. This was it. I had to tell him. It's now or never. I took a deep breath and looked Beau in the eye.

"Ok so yes I am pregnant. But....Luke....well...."

"What about Luke? Don't tell me he's just going to leave you to take care of this baby on your own...That douche bag. Listen Kayla I'll make him-"

"Beau for goodness sake, I'm trying to tell you something but you keep on interrupting me."

"Sorry Kayla. So what is it?"

"Well the thing is....Luke......Well..Luke isn't the father."

"What? Then who is?" Asked Beau who now looked confused as hell. He probably thought I was some sort of slut, going round having sex with random boys off of the street...

"It's you. Beau, you're the dad of this baby- Our baby."

There was no reply from him. His jaw dropped and he looked confused. He sat down on my bed and removed his SnapBack. He was rubbing his face with his hands then I heard him quietly ask

"Was it that night at the party?"

"Yes." I replied softly.

"So what are we going to do? Like do you want me to be involved or...?"

"Listen, Beau. I've discussed it with Luke and he said that although he's not the biological father, he still wants to be this kids dad. Luke will help me support the baby but I don't know where that leaves you." I sat beside him on my bed and put my arm around him, trying to comfort him.

"I know that while Luke is bringing up the baby, you'll have to spend every day thinking to yourself 'that's my child' and I know it's going to be awkward for you and difficult. But Beau, we'll work something out. I promise."

Beau nodded then wiped his eyes with his shirt. He had started to cry. I took hold of his hand and felt his warmth. He looked up at me and tried to smile but I could see how bad this was for him.

"Oh god Kayla I'm so sorry. I should never have made a move on you that night. I was stupid, and drunk. But that's no excuse. My stupid actions lead to you getting pregnant. I don't think I'll ever be able to say how sorry I am, Kayla. Are you mad at me?"

"Beau, how could I be mad at you? You've allowed me to bring a little miracle in to the world. I'm thankful for that. And I must admit, I was never expecting to be pregnant at such an age but what's done is done. I'm going to have a baby and I couldn't be happier. You'll always have a place in my heart Beau. Don't you ever forget how much you mean to me, ok?"

He didn't say anything but suddenly Beau scooped me up into his arms. We embraced and I could hear him mumbling 'I'm still sorry' oh Beau, you'll never understand how much I care for you. You don't have to be sorry for anything...

"So is it a boy or a girl?" Asked Beau after letting me go from our embrace.

"It's a little baby boy." I said and smiled at him.
