I wake up to my alarm and get myself dressed again. Just another average day. An ordinary Friday. Mom wasn't home, but she probably stayed with Ted. I might see her next Monday when he went back to work. That was how it usually went.

I walked to school with Kaley and chatted about the ordinary things. I didn't mention my nightmare. I usually didn't. I hadn't talked to anyone about it. Who could I talk to? Besides the one with Maddox all the others were my mom's fault which left her out. So that just left me. So here I am.

She was headed to the northern part of the state this weekend to visit her dad and sister. It had been a while and she was excited.

The day dragged on. I was sitting in my study class with Mr. Deandre. He was going over the importance of being able to read a ruler with the other students and I was working on homework. I liked Mr. Deandre. He had personality. He was a wood shop teacher and neighbored the classroom to the metal shop. He was in the middle of talking about how more people should be able to read rulers when his door opened. It was Spencer. "Chief wants to know if we can borrow your key to open the closet with the grinders." He walked over to Spencer and handed him his keys. Spencer waved at me before heading back to his class. Like the sun shining on a cloudy day. Something about him. Not sure what. But there was something.

I continued my day, as I did every day. Every class went by, even Debate. Nothing notable happened. I walked home by myself, since Kaley was heading out of town. I made it all the way to my house, no Issac. Alright even more alone. I got to the door and fumbled with my key. I tried to unlock the door but was having trouble, I heard a man calling my name "Stephanie" and instantly I got scared. Theres no way, theres no way it's Maddox. I managed to unlock the door some more before running inside and locking the locks. I ran to the farthest part of the apartment and curled up, shaking with fear. Then I heard a fist pounding the door "Stephanie" I heard again. I started to cry. He found me, he found me. I was alone and he found me. "Stephanie its me Trevor." My breathing slowed but my blood pressure was still high. Just my neighbor. I forced myself up from the floor and walked towards the door slowly. Worried it was a trap.

I unlocked the locks and slowly cracked the door, seeing Trevor there made me a little bit less nervous. "Hey Stephanie, I got some of your mom's mail by accident. Here" he handed me the mail and said "have a good night!" Before going across the hall to his apartment. Trevor was alright, I didn't know him well, he graduated from our school not that long ago.

I went inside and relocked the doors. I decided to take a shower and drown out the demons. I had a date tomorrow. Maybe my luck would change. I scoffed at the thought yeah right.
