Kaykrae POV:

4 days later -

Yawning and stretching my arms, I slithered around my cabin to wake up. It had been four days since the Trial of Ares. And so far the camp seemed to be doing quite well. Jakey and Bryan were getting close, though they hadn't said anything about being official, just been together for most activities. The same thing was going on with Bri and Xylo. It was interesting considering how those four had also been artifact hunting. Bri got a wand that helped her control the weather or something, and Bryan got a type of armor. Jakey and Xylo had some items as well, but I didn't know what. The only reason I even knew they went out looking for artifacts was because the twins were showing off what they got. However, the twins were seemingly growing distant from the rest of the campers. Bryan clung to Jakey, but he grew farther away at times. While Bri was ......... Bri. I'm still trying to understand her. I was randomly given the nickname Scales and it stuck. Now everyone is calling me that. I still can't seem to understand what they have against the son of Zeus though. He doesn't either. Either way, things were still pretty good. The two sons of Posideon had been mellowing out as well. Anyways, back to now. I was grabbing myself a cup of orange juice when I heard knocking on the door. (Curious. It's only 8.) I put down my cup and went to open the door. To my pleasant, not pleasant? Oh boy. To my surprise, the Aphrodite twins were standing outside. Bri wouldn't make eye contact with me as she seemed irritated about something. While Bryan only smiled nervously and gave a small wave. "Good morning, Kaykrae, how are you?" Asked Bryan. I shrugged saying, "Uhh, I'm fine. Just still waking up. Do you two need anything?" I asked while pointing at the two of them. Now Bri made eye contact while she quickly said, "We need help." I raised an eyebrow, curious, and asked, "With ... What?" Bri looked away again and Bryan hurriedly asked, "Could we talk inside?" I nodded and let them in. Bryan wandered around the main room exploring, while Bri stood hesitantly in the doorway. She examined the area from a distance, unlike her brother. I was still curious about what they needed help with. I asked, "So. What do you two need that you decided you wanted to come to me for help?" Bryan was standing by the kitchen table when he looked over at me and then quickly glanced away. His more positive demeanor had dampened slightly. Bri then spoke. She seemed hesitant with what she was about to say. But she sounded angry. "We ... Need to speak with the Oracle." I froze. I had to process this. Skeptical and worried, I slowly asked, "Why?" Bryan now sat down in one of the chairs. He stared at an empty vase sitting on my table, his gaze was soft, yet something dark lurked behind it. That's how it's been with these two, it's as though I'm speaking with ghosts. People who are exhausted of life, more than they let on. Even though they still stick around. I sighed as I had to think about this. Neither of them liked the Oracle and I wouldn't trust them in a room by themselves with her as far as I can throw them. But, the Oracle did tell me, that if anyone asks for access, I have no right to deny it. No matter what my fears were. I was still waiting for an answer, but they wouldn't give me one. I lifted my head back and stared at the ceiling before sighing again and reluctantly saying, "Alright, I'll let you both see her under one condition." They both gazed at me with curious glances. "I stand in the room with both of you." (This is the one time I'm disobeying the Oracle's orders. But I still don't trust these two around her.) Bryan seemed surprised but somewhat understanding as he nodded. While Bri was slightly irritated with my statement. But with a frustrated tone, she looked away and said, "Fine." Bryan shot a glare at Bri, and Bri angrily glared back. Bryan motioned toward me and continued glaring at her until she groaned and strained a smile. Her tone was passive, yet aggressive enough that you could tell she was only being polite without meaning it. "Thank you ...... For your help ......... Happy now?" She said, aiming that final comment at Bryan and shooting a glare at him again. Bryan let out a sigh of satisfaction and said, "Yes. Thank you for being nice." He was patronizing Bri, but she didn't retort against it. This was the moment I was sure and knew ....... Bri hated me. The swords around their waists started to glow again but I barely noticed, I was mainly focusing on how they treated each other, it was odd. One moment they're attached at the sides, comforting each other, fighting together, another moment these two are at each other's throats. I picked up my glass and gulped it down before stretching my arms one last time. I made my way toward the door and asked, "Ready?" Bryan stood up and excitedly said, "YEP!" Bri only rolled her eyes. We made our way to the Oracle's cabin, on our way I pulled out a key for the lock. The three of us finally reached her cabin after what seemed like ages. I slithered up to the door and hesitated. I held the key in my hand, but before I opened the lock, I looked behind me. Bryan and Bri stood patiently waiting. They mirrored each other, Bryan stood on my left while Bri stood on my right. Both tilted their heads inward towards each other. I squinted my eyes, and the swords both glowed. The particles moved in steady circles, yet there were random moments when a shard would stop frozen in place or stop and spin to move in the other direction. The two held eye contact with me or continued staring if I broke it to look at the other. I looked around the area and took one last look at the twins before I finally decided I was ready to open the door. (Alright, here we go.) click
