NARRATOR

The ambulance finally arrived at the scene. Blood was everywhere and those who was close by fan describe the scene as a tragic one. The police also arrived to question the witness and nothing tangible were they coming out with. Each witness states the same thing that everything happened so fast and buy the time they started to notice what was going gun shots rang in the air and like every normal person who hears gun shots they either run or lie down. Unfortunately the driver died on the scene while Aza was still in the table fighting for her life. With two bullets on her back and one on her leg, Aza was in a very critical state inside the theatre. The doctors were cautiously trying to remove the bullets from leg. The machine started to beep.

Doctor 1: Blood. We need blood.

He screamed over his team as the patient in front of him was losing a lot of blood. The nurse rushed over with the blood and the machines beeped again.

Doctor 2: Cardiac arrest. We need to revive her now.

Another doctor yelled.

Doctor 2: Charge the defibrillator now.

The nurse did as instructed while the doctor carefully turned her body around. At that point they didn’t care about the hole in her leg nor the infection she may catch. Her life was much more important than that.

Doctor: On my count.

The nurse nodded her heart skipping her a beat.

Doctor 1: Charge.

Aza’s body jerked on the table.

Doctor 1: Again.

He placed the machine on top of her chest and tried to revive her.

Doctor 1: Charge at 120.

As per instruction the nurse switched the machine to the requested number.

Doctor 1: No, no, come on woman. Don’t die on me.

He turned to his team and screamed in frustration.

Doctor 1: Charge again.

Aza’s body jerked followed by a flat line on the machine. They waited for a few minutes for the heart to revive it’s like it normally does on other patients but sadly it didn’t.

Doctor 2: Time of death. 16:46pm.

The whole mood changed into a sombre on after that statement. Losing a patient should be a norm to them but it still wasn’t.

Doctor 1: Did they manage to get hold of her family?

Nurse: The police have her belongings. I’m sure by now they have alerted them.

He nodded in defeat.

SANDILE

Two in this hospital and it’s frustrated the hell out of me. Being stuck in one places drives one crazy. Prison was much better than being here because I was able to move around but sadly I can’t move because I have a huge fricken cast on my leg. I haven’t seen that infuriating woman since she stormed out of here and I’m glad she gets the idea that I need space to think. Sometimes being alone just exercises one’s brain and gives it a chance to make decisions. This back and forth between us is not normal. I don’t know how does she expect the society to respect me if she my wife fails to do so. I can’t be respected by outsiders while my wife fails to do so. It will be saying a lot about me as a man.

Peace and respect is what we man look for in a home and the rest shall follow. I can’t be shouting people the whole day over business deals and get home to another business deals. The two should be separated. If I’m at work there’s something showing it and if I’m at home I’m expecting to walk in a peaceful environment and respectful partner. The door opens breaking me from my thoughts. Kagiso walks in looking like his carrying the whole world on his shoulders?
