SANDILE
I don’t know whether I’m thinking too much into this but there’s just something about that Jen woman. She reminds me so much of her but at the same they don’t pose the same traits. I drive in after opening the gate and close it. I step out of the car and walk to the door. Laughter is the first thing my ears catch on. Motherfucker is playing happy family white whoever is in there after making advances on my wife. I should have brought my gun but my mind was all over the place when I drove off from home. I wasn’t aware I was driving to his house. The door opens after I knocked revealing his mother.
Mme: (excited) Santile ngwanaka is that you?
I chuckle.
Me: In the flash Mme.
She engulfs me in her arms.
Mme: How are you?
Me: I’m good. When did you arrive?
Mme: Just a couple of days. Come in.
She widely open the door for me and I walk in. Following the noise, I find his father and him on the dinning table about to eat.
Me: Dumelang.
Mofokeng: Oh, morwa. How are you?
Me: I’ve never been better ntate, how are you?
Mofokeng: As you can see I’m strong as an ox.
I shift my eyes to Kagiso.
Me: Eita.
Kagiso: (bored) Sho.
Mme: Let me get you a plate. I’ve been demanding Kagiso to take me to you but his been preoccupied.
I raise my eyebrows and stare at him.
Me: Is it?
Mme: Yes. Did you know about his son?
Me: (shocked) What son?
Kagiso: My life doesn’t revolve around fools Mme. Who knows what will they do with such information?
I chuckle blinking at the jab.
Me: So after you touched my wife and made advances on her this is the shit you can say to me?
Kagiso: Did she tell you that?
Mofokeng: What’s going on?
I stare down at him, challenge him.
Me: Kagiso is stabbing me in the back.
Mofokeng: Kagiso is that true?
Kagiso: I’ve rather hit on a woman who is in a mental institution than that grasshopper you call a wife. She’s not in my league nor will she be my taste. If that’s what tickles you don’t think everybody will find it funny.
He muttered still maintain eye contact. I lock him on the staring contest.
Mme: And then?
He breaks it as his phone rings.
Mme: What did I say about cellphones on the dinner table?
Kagiso: It’s important Mme it can’t wait.
He jumps to his feet and picks it.
Kagiso: Mofokeng.
He walked a little further away.
Kagiso: I’ll send the driver to deliver them to you.
Mme: What was that all about?
Me: It’s nothing we can’t handle Mme.
