AZASAKHEThe car parks at Sihle’s house and she steps out.
Sihle: (mouthful) Thank you for the ride. Mntase I’ll see you tomorrow. Don’t forget we are going to Kuhle’s hose after work.
Me: Text me in the morning so I can pack something I change into because I will forget.
Sihle: Love you lots, bye.
I wave at her mother on the door as the car drives off.
Me: Can we pass at my house. I need to check up on me.
He nods. I lean back on the chair and bite my magnum. I bought three of them for Sihle and him but he declined my offer. He switches on the radio to bat the awkward silence.
Me: I won’t take long.
I murmur stepping out and rush inside after dropping the stick. Knocking twice, I open the door and walk in just as Nat opens the door.
Me: Hey.
Nat: Hi, is everything okay?
Me: Everything is fine. I came to check up on you guys. Is there something you’re short of?
Nat: We are still fine. By the way I wanted to run something by you.
I pull the barstool and make myself comfortable.
Nat: I was thinking of renting out the back room so we use that money for grocery and stuff.
Me: That’s actually not a bad idea. Who are you and what have you done with Natasia?
She stumbles towards me and snacks my shoulder.
Nat: I’m still your elder.
I laugh.
Me: I really like this Natasia I’m seeing. She’s more calm and more thinks for others.
Nat: A girl got to do what a girl got to do especially when you’re no longer in your parents shadows.
Me: Have you found a tenant yet?
Nat: I wanted to speak to you first and no I haven’t found anyone.
Me: As long as that someone doesn’t take advantage of you and turns my mother’s yard into a tarven then I’m fine.
I jump to my feet and kiss her cheek.
Me: I’m proud of the person you’re becoming. Kiss them goodnight for me. I have to go.
She nods and ushered me to the door. I wave her goodbye and step in the car.
Me: Sorry I took to long.
Sandile: You didn’t.
I heavily sigh and shift my eyes to him.
Sandile: I can feel your eyes piercing through my skin. Spit it out.
He murmured still keeping his eyes on the road.
Me: I’m just wondering why me.
He excuses his breath.
Sandile: You already know the reason. Why are we having thus conversation?
Me: I want to understand how does it happen? You only saw me once and mysterious fell in love.
Sandile: I don’t expect you to understand because you haven’t through that experience. When you meet the one you just know.
He shrugs turning on the corner of our street.
Me: Maybe that’s the problem.
He presses the remote and drives in after it opens and close it. We both jump out and walk inside after it parks. I unlock the door and walk to my room. Opening the closet, I look for the contract and walk back to the living room. I find him taking off his cufflinks and waistcoat.
