|1 week later|Sitting in my truck rolling my blunt I listened to Jayla ramble on about her math homework, she called every day around five o'clock begging for my help.
"What's the answer?" she huffs rubbing her eye "I keep getting two but that's not an option"
"Ten" shrugging while sealing my blunt I opened my door seeing Ja'Kiya came out of her apartment building waving. "wassup Phat"
"How the fuck did you get that and I got two? Math is fucking stupid, I hate that bitch"
"Take your time and look at the problem, Jayla what are you in a rush for?"
"I'm sleepy and this shit is stupid. Math shouldn't be a thing. When am I ever going to need to know the square root of a trapezoid?"
I spent the next five minutes explaining each step she needed to take to understand how I got my answer and where she went room.
In the midst of me doing so Ja'Kiya came up to me with her phone held out, climbing into my lap she closed the truck door and then leaned into it showing me her phone that had her therapist on the line.
"Alright bitch boy, thank you" Jayla hums hanging up
Ma should've aborted that hoe
"Wassup Phat?" I ask with my blunt between my lips while I lit it, blowing the smoke away from her face.
"My therapist wanted to ask you a question since you've been around me the most lately"
Taking the phone I held it to my ear looking over her outfit, simple but cute. She had on a grey bodycon dress with pink Chanel slippers, silver necklaces, and diamond stud earrings.
This is the first time I've seen her in four days since her trip. The girl didn't text or call as much as I did nor did she sleep on the phone with me. She hates me?
"Hello?" her therapist greets calmly
"Wassup?"
"Hi, how are you today? How's Ja'Kiya been these past couple of days since her trip to the ER? We were scheduled for an in-person appointment this upcoming Tuesday but due to maintenance issues we'll have to push it back until Friday morning"
"She's been quiet mostly, everything else is the same. She's still eating regularly, sleeping a full eight hours at night, and getting out of the house for a few hours of the day. I think she just needs to get out of her head"
"Okay, that's good to hear. ." as her therapist spoke I watched Kiya fiddle with my lighter stealing glances at me.
Offering the blunt I watched her decline, laying her head on the window.
"Alright" hanging up I set her phone in the cup holder. "you look pretty"
"Thank you" with a small smile she looks at me poking my cheek. "that's the first real compliment you've ever given me"
"Mm, how you feeling?"
"I'm okay"
"Did you want to go out?"
"Is it ok if we get Nia today?" She hums and I nod
"Ima get a hug and kiss or you gon keep playing?"
"I'll give you a hug, last time I kissed you, you didn't talk to me for a whole day"
"Mmcht, I told you Nia broke my phone. I wasn't ignoring you on purpose. Give me a kiss"
Mumbling to herself she leaned over and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips, looking up into my eyes she smiled softly wrapping her arms around my neck.
