Chapter 16: A Hidden Truth
"Isn't.. this mine..?" Yurika whispers, her eyes widening as the cold air stiffens around her, it feels like she has found something that belongs to her, something she never expected to see again.
"What the hell.. Why is it so bloody? Did I drop it that day..?" Yurika says in a whisper tone so that Midori can't hear her.
Midori stopped cleaning and looks at Yurika who was still looking at the necklace overthinking.
"Yurika..? What are you doing?" Midori asks, her voice laced with confusion and curiosity.
Yurika flinched and replies, "Ah.. It's nothing, I just found a stray cat I just started petting it... oh it's gone.." Yurika then puts the necklace in her pocket.
Yurika stands up and slowly walks down the staircase and continues to clean, Midori reluctantly nodded and continues to clean on the stairs.
While cleaning Yurika still wonders why was her necklace there and why is it so bloody? Did something happened that she didn't know?
The air was cold and the sound of leaves was not enough to brush away Yurika's mind, her mind was stuck on the necklace.
After that, Yurika and Midori returned to they're classrooms and sat and rest for a few minutes, "Ah! After all that cleaning it's final done!" Midori says and stretched out her arms.
"Well.. There's still club meetings, so we don't get much rest.." Yurika replies with a cold expression.
"What do you mean club? We don't even have a club yet Idiot!" Midori says and starts to laugh, Yurika then replies.
"Wait, we don't have one? Oh I forgot were clubless.." Yurika says with a whisper tone.
"Anyways... I'm planning on finding a club starting tomorrow.. I mean it's really boring to be clubless to be honest." Midori says and sighs.
Yurika slowly nods and looks at the outside window, she sees the wind blows in front of them and leaves fall, she still couldn't shake the feeling about that necklace.
A Few Hours Later
It was the end of the day and students starts to go home after the club meeting, Yurika was left alone because Midori has to attend an important meeting with her family.
Yurika walks in the school bus alone and sat on the window seat and looks at the window, and she suddenly remembers the necklace she saw below the railing.
"The necklace..." She says in a whisper voice, She grabs her pocket and she was relieved the necklace was still there.
"Wait. I thought the police investigated throught the area.. Didn't they find this already if they inspected the area around the staircase?" Yurika says in her head.
After the school bus ride, she steps off with determination, heads to her room, and opens her computer to begin her research.
"Shizuku Akademi Incident"
Yurika search that and found a wikipage all about the incident in her school, she clicked on it and starts scrolling until she found the investigation section.
