All Wriothesley wished for was a normal morning. He just wanted to wake up, get ready at his own pace, make some breakfast, and eat in peace. But that plan was quickly ruined when what seemed like Fontaine's entire Melusine population and Furina showed up early in the morning. Furina was out of herself, yelling for Wriothesley to come downstairs immediately.
He wondered why Furina couldn't just get Neuvillette. Why did he have to come? He didn't think much more about it as he threw on his clothes and went downstairs. All the melusines stared at him, probably wondering why he was in the Iudex's house. But what caught his attention was Furina. She always looked put together and fancy, but it seemed like she went here in a rush. Her eyes were wide, and her pupils slightly dilated, probably because of the adrenaline pumping through her. When her eyes reached him, the panicky look in her eyes turned into anger.
"Wriothesley!" She shouted as she walked over to him.
"Yes, Lady Furina? Did something happen?"
"Do you never learn from your mistakes!? How dense are you!?"
"Well, that's pretty rude. What are you talking about?"
"Have you even noticed Neuvillette isn't here!?"
"Well, yes, why do you ask?"
"If you have noticed, then why aren't you panicking?"
"Why should I panic?" Wriothesley asked, now starting to feel a little uneasy. What was Furina on about? Why would he panic?
"Neuvillette isn't here anymore. You were supposed to watch him!"
"Maybe he went for a walk?"
"Yeah right," Furina scoffed.
They both went to Neuvillette's room and found... Nothing. He wasn't there, just like Furina had said. But it didn't look unusual either. Everything looked the same, and even the bed was made. "Wriothesley, I can't find Neuvillette," Furina said, her voice now lower and almost pleading. He knew that tone. He knew Furina wanted him to find the Iudex. But since when was it his job to babysit a grown man!? He is more than capable of taking care of himself, and he is far stronger than Wriothesley. What would he even be able to do?
But then, what if something had happened to Neuvillette? It was just difficult to believe something could have happened to the hydro dragon while he was in the same house as him. Wouldn't he have noticed?
"Lady Furina, do you have any idea about where he might be?""No," She sighed, "I've already checked everywhere I thought he would be."
He frowned. Why would Neuvillette go somewhere Furina wouldn't be able to find him?"I'll find him, don't worry."
Wriothesley wasn't sure if it was lucky or an extreme burden to have all of Fontaine's melusines helping him search. Of course it was practical to have eyes literally everywhere. But having to constantly talk to at least 20 melusines at once while reassuring the few melusines, who were very affected by Neuvillette's disappearance that everything would be okay, and searching on his own, was a little much.
