The Adventures of Me and Bambi

Chapters Three: That Night, Next Morning & Bambi's Family

As I was sleeping, I feel something trying to wake me up.
Bambi: "Lucas wake up!"
Me: "Bambi it's (I look at my tablet) it's 4AM what are you doing up?"
Bambi: " I know it's late, but I had a nightmare"
Me: (sits up) Me: "what about? Is it because my dad is a hunter?"
Bambi: (gets in my arms) "yes that is what it was about, and once he found out you have me, he pulled a pistol on me"
Me: "well Bambi, nightmares aren't real and my dad wouldn't do anything to hurt you trust me"
Bambi: "are you sure that he wouldn't do anything to hurt me? How can I be sure?"
Me: "if you're nervous about meeting him, how about I ask him about you and see how he responds?"
Bambi: "Yeah how about we do that"
Me: "Goodnight Bambi"
Bambi: " goodnight Lucas"
When I lay back down to go back to sleep, Bambi snuggles up next to me to sleep peacefully without nightmares, and I wrap my arms around him to show him that I'm here for him.
Me: "goodnight brother see you in the morning"
Bambi: "right back at ya bro"
I was still sleeping, and Bambi was 5in from me, I woke up from a nightmare and the time is 5:30AM.
Me: "Bambi, BAMBI!"
Bambi: "what's wrong Lucas? Don't you know I'm a fawn and I need sleep to be playful?"
Me: "remember how you a nightmare? I had one"
Bambi comes the rest of the way to me, and his fur makes contact with my skin. I embrace his soft fur, snuggling him closer to me.
Bambi: "just let my presence comfort you, we don't need to say anything"
Me: "don't you want to know what my nightmare was about?"
Bambi: "You can tell me if you want, but I'm not requiring you to"
Me: "well we are brothers so I'll tell you, it was about me being the only human on Earth, and the world was overrun by extraterrestrials(aliens) and they didn't come in peace instead came packing firearms and planed to end humanity except for me, and they carried out their mission and did it successfully and left me alone and scared"
Bambi: "you will never truly be alone, you have a lot of friends and family that love you. and most importantly you have me. I'm your cross species brother you can't get anything better than me"
Me: "I'm wide awake now, we might as well stay up. And we are brothers"
Bambi: "I couldn't agree more with you"
Me: "so Bambi do you have any family? I found you alone and scared in the forest, I'm wondering why because you seem so friendly"
Bambi: "well not really, my mother was shot by hunters and my father died of a gunshot also, so I don't really have any friends either only Thumper and Flower. I miss my parents so much, I accepted your offer because I was lonely and my fragile heart couldn't handle the loneliness anymore, and used to have a best friend named Gobo but he was pursumed dead after the hunters attacked my forest . so I didn't really have a family. Only you, Thumper and Flower"
Me:*in a comforting voice* "oh Bambi, that couldn't have been easy for you to say I'm so sorry that you're going through all of that, and you will never have to feel alone or forgotten about anymore, I promise I will always be by your side no matter what happens"
Bambi: " it wasn't easy for me to say, I just want to cry now'
Me: "feel free to cry, just let out your tears and pain. Your secrets are safe with me"
Bambi rushes towards and snuggles into me, I wrap my arms around his small body and Bambi starts to cry.
