As Bambi Jr grows older, my life begins to drastically change.
Me: "Chase, where are you?"
Bambi: "Luke, Luke, Chase is......"
Me: "Bambi, what happened to Chase?!"
Bambi: *starts to cry* "Chase is dead"
Me: "how did he die?"
Bambi: "he was badly hurt in a mission, he died in the line of duty"
I sit down unable to comprehend that my best friend is gone and never coming back. I breakdown into tears.
Bambi: (nuzzles me) "it's okay to cry Luke. Chase is in a better place now"
Me: (sobs)
Bambi (sobs)
Me: (hugs Bambi)
Bambi: (hugs me back)
Me: "does Bambi Jr know this?"
Bambi: "no, he doesn't know yet, I don't want him to know"
Me: "why do you not want him to know?"
Bambi: "I don't know why I don't want him to know"
Bambi Jr: "don't want me to know what?"
Me: "Chase is dead"
Bambi Jr:: "my dad is dead?"
Me: "I'm sorry to say yes he is"
Bambi Jr: *breaksdown crying*
Bambi: *walks over to Bambi Jr* "Come with me little one, I'll comfort you"
Bambi Jr: *while crying* "Th-th-thanks Bambi"
Bambi: *in a comforting brotherly voice* "please call me a brother"
Bambi Jr: "thanks brother, it means a lot to me that you care about me"
Bambi: "it means a lot to have you as my brother Bambi Jr"
Bambi Jr: "aww that's sweet of you to say"
Bambi: "I'm a big brother to you so I want to make a good impression"
Bambi Jr: "I guess that makes sense"
(Bambi Jr. lays on my bed and Bambi lays beside him)
Bambi Jr: (whimpering)
Bambi: *while having a look of pure kindness in his eyes* "you're safe here little one"
Bambi Jr: (still whimpering)
Bambi: *still has the look of pure kindness in his eyes* "I promise this is a safe place for you to let out your pain"
