Sera had no idea what to think.

There was something so fundamentally wrong with the way Sera had retreated to her apartment last night; the feeling of regret did not leave her when she woke up in the morning. It was impossible to think about anything else, except that she left Saul in the forest after she denied him after everything that he had said to her.

Realistically, she had no idea how to feel.

Her heart was heavy with conflicting emotions, and her mind raced with thoughts of what had transpired. Within her was a storm of uncertainty, one that had no clear path forward.

Her apartment, which had once been a place of solitude and refuge, now felt suffocating. It didn't matter where she was, she couldn't escape the memories of Saul's touch, his words, and the way he had looked at her with such intensity.

Sera sank onto her worn-out couch, hugging a throw pillow to her chest as if it were a lifeline. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she let them flow freely. She was no stranger to heartache, but this was different, more profound. She chose this.

Her internal struggle waged on, a battle between her desire for love and her fear of vulnerability. The past had taught her that love often came at a cost, and she wasn't sure she was willing to pay it again.

"Why does it have to be so complicated?" Sera whispered to herself, her voice cracking with emotion. She knew that Saul's intentions were genuine, that his offer had come from a place of love and concern. But the thought of giving him so many parts of her, was terrifying.

Saul had shown her a world of kindness and compassion she had never known before. He had chipped away at the walls she had built around her heart, and now, she felt exposed, vulnerable, and utterly conflicted.

Sera's inner turmoil continued to churn. She thought about the golden bracelet Saul had placed on her wrist, the charm that pulsed with a mysterious energy. She had turned him away so many times, but he still cared for her anyway, that was the worst part. The bracelet was nothing but a reminder of what could have been, because choosing him required a sacrifice she was not willing to make.

She reached out and traced her fingers over the bracelet, feeling its warmth against her skin. It was a reminder of Saul's unwavering affection and the depth of his emotions. But it was also a reminder of her own fears, her hesitation to fully embrace what he had offered. It would not exist if not for her uncertainty.

Sera knew she had to make sense of her feelings, to untangle the web of doubt and fear that had ensnared her heart, but she wasn't going to do it in one day. For now, she couldn't spend all day cooped up in her house crying, she had to do something.

Sera rose from her couch. She looked around her dimly lit apartment, as if saying a silent farewell to the shadows of her melancholy.

As she slipped on her coat and grabbed her keys, she stepped outside into the crisp October air. Sera found the freshness of fall to be incredibly refreshing. The streets were alive with the gentle buzz of people going about their lives, and the city seemed to breathe with its own rhythm. The late afternoon sun cast a warm, golden glow across the city as Sera made her way to the library.

Sera admired the building when she arrived, it stood tall and welcoming against the backdrop of the city. She pushed open the heavy wooden doors and was greeted by the familiar scent of books and the soft murmur of voices engaged in hushed conversations.

As she walked past row after row of bookshelves, Sera finally reached the area where she knew she'd find Tyler. He was seated at a wooden table near the large windows, his blond hair falling over his forehead as he leaned over a stack of books. The soft sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow around him.
